Whatever Ash does from here, I am very impressed with the way he has conducted himself over this.  If he goes to Manu, re then he has my best wishes.  If he goes to Citeh I will think he has made a mistake.  If he goes to Liverpool thats just stupid.

Agreed.

I still have some faith in that he stays.

Ash has been such an exciting player to watch, he's been my favourite player ever since he joined us. I love his swagga too.

He's gone. :(

In an ideal world he would stay and we would get in a top manager who can produce this focused Ash we see in some of his England performances.

Yep he is outta here, after today's game and the comments he will have a obligatory meeting with Randy and then he will go to Manure, shame but that is the modern game.

Oh, I'd say something like "every player wants to play at teh highest level and I'm no different" and possibly a "it's always flattering to be linked with clubs like Utd" and a little "I will now go on my holidays and relax after what has been a ling season" etc etc.

He'll be holding teh Man Utd shirt within 2 weeks

And how many other players wouldnt have even bothered to say that in an interview.  He is doing things properly - he is still under contract to us.  Unlike Fat Barry did.

Yeah, those interviews are no-win.  I was commenting more on the standard responses they're taught to say.  They are pointless.

What has he done that's so different to what Barry did?

Well so far, Ashley has'nt gone running to the NOTW saying how much he wants to leave and that he'd only leave Villa for a Champs League Club. I remember the article well, two pages long, a picture of Bazza lying down looking depressed etc...

If he was as honest as Barry he would have done.
File Young in with Milner in the snide, "we haven't got the balls to admit we want out" file.

It's all a game to them though - and the game isn't football, it's maximizing revenue opportunities and enhancing their agent's waistlines.

Be interesting to see if Ash waits to see who our next Manager is before making his mind up.

No, that's bollocks mate.

He's a professional footballer, and he has the opportunity to further his career significantly. He's probably given us more than anyone in the last four years, we'll still get a decent fee so good look to him, I think wherever he goes he'll be a star.
