Turning point?  MON screaming 'World class!' at him over and over again when he scored the last minute winner at Everton.  Since that point onwards he's started believing the hype and become a worse player for it.

If we can find someone willing to give us £15m for him I'll drive him to their ground myself.  I'll even lend him the pen for the contract.

Yeah £15m and I'd be happy too, yeah he's a good player but not really a team player his ego has got to big for Villa Park.

So Ash has been told ,as he says, players peak at 26/27 and he is at his peak or going to be  next year. No Ash my son you peaked at 23/24 and since than you have been abysmal. The only reason you are in demand is that you are english and an OK squad player. Nothing more.

Disagree with most of that, in demand by Man U, Liverpool Spurs etc because he has qualities. If he is as poor as you say, Wigan Blues and the likes of Blackpool would be after him.

People are so harsh on Ashley Young. He is better than Lennon, he's one of the best wingers in the league.

We expect a lot from him because we know how good he can be but you can't be that good all the time especially when you're a marked man and playing in a side that is struggling.

Since Ashley Young has been a Villa player, how many games in his absence, can we say we haven't missed him?

We'll miss him when he's gone but lets not drag the process out. Would prefer to see him move to a side on the continent rather than rubbing our noses in it at Liverpool or Man U.

But the players have all the power nowadays and if that's where he wants to go, fcuk him.

Get N'Zogbia in in his place and we might actually emerge from the situation ahead.

Not a fan of N'Zogbia.

He obviously has talent, but comes across as not giving a fuck 75% of the time.

The late substituion and the way he left the field was surely a goodbye? Remenisant of Milner against Westham.

Looked that way to me, the amount of time he took to walk off and the way he saluted all sides of the ground. Cya Ash, we'll always have Goodison.

Yeah well as I said in the match thread, thanks for the memories Ash. If he goes to Man Utd I can't really begrudge him that. He's given us good service.

I think we all knew he'd be off this summer, and it's difficult not to wish him well in my view. He's been very good for us, especially the season before last, and has never done anything less than put in a real shift each and every game. I think he'll be able to step up a level at somewhere like Man Utd, too.

I also reckon we'll be alright without him.
