Fair enough, I just think he does it a bit too often as if it's the Ashley Young show.

His best performance in a Villa shirt for me on sat, and i think he will go in the summer, and if we get any more than £15m, then i think we will have done well.

What it does depend on is AYoungs attitude in the contract discussions, if he is insistent on only going to one club, then really our hands are tied.Hopefully he will not be like that, and my preference would be Spuds, with a deal involving Walker, who i think will become a very valuable player for us.

  Carrick...no, Valencia....won't happen, Walcott.....possibly,

we got £14m for Barry in a similar scenario
Ash is worth a lot more, & there are more clubs sniffing so £20m is realistic

He didnt celebrate like someone who was on his way to Liverpool when he set up the winner

As much as he's probably my favourite player, Ashley's celebration looked like that of someone filled with a bit too much self-importance. Rather than running over to Gabby to celebrate, he looked to lap-up the adoration of the Villans behind the goal for creating the goal. Cupping the ear, showing the name on the back of his shirt etc.
Nowt really wrong with that, especially when you deliver the goods, but if he goes to a bigger club I think he'd feel a tit doing the ''worship me'' routine every time he scores/makes a goal.
i had gone corporate on saturday and for 20 minutes the west ham chanted, ashley youre a kaahhnt, ashley ashley youre a kaahhnnt.
if i had just set up the winner, pointing to my name on the back of my shirt would have been the least i would have done!

Yeah, but it's the Villa fans he was celebrating in front of. It's not a big issue, just I wouldn't pin hopes on Young staying partly/wholly based on how delighted he seems when he's celebrating.

The figure for Barry was £12m.
If more than one club want him it will become an auction and the price will go up. I'd be a bit annoyed if he went to Liverpool or even Spurs if the miss out on the Champions League.

I think he'll go Liverpool. They need someone to cross to Suarez and Carroll.

Spurs don't need him if they keep VdV and Bale.

I'm more concerned we keep hold of Downing.

Why would he go to Liverpool ? they are not any closer to Europe next season than we are. Man U will be his destination to be Giggs understudy.

The name is still a big draw hence why Carroll and Suarez both went there. And Daglish seems to be getting the feel good factor back there after the malaise they were in under Benitez and Woy.

I think he'd be in a Milner situation if he went to United as they have Nani, Park and Valencia who all play out wide.

I don't really care where he goes and I don't understand why anybody else does.  He is not going to be a Villa player next season, we all know that, so what is the point in talking about which club will get his services?  I hope he warms the bench of whichever club he chooses, loses his England place (like Milner) and then regrets ever leaving.  Fuck him.  He is not our concern any more.  (As soon as the season ends that is).

Can we not see if he leaves first before ripping him to bits?
We all know it's a strong possibility but it's not yet a certainty.

Isn't it?  I would be amazed if he stays, absolutely amazed.  If he stays and signs a new deal I think I'd collapse with shock.  He is not going to be a Villa player next season and I think most have already accepted that.

I'd be suprised if he stays too but he hasnt gone yet. It's not yet a certainty.
And if he goes he'll have given us 5 years and always done his best. I don't begrudge him moving on if that's what he wants.
I do know he is very fond of this club though so we'll see what happens.

I wouldn't put money on him staying, put it that way, but you never know.

He seems a bit more positive on staying than you'd think though.

He's probably trying to make sure that some of our fans won't give him pelters for buggering off.
