I don't want Ash to go :(

His celebrations for our winning goal today were great. I love his passion for the Villa and football in general.

His celebrations were great but I fear his passion is for football and not Villa in particular.

I do think he has an affinity for the club, though. The only reason he wants to leave is because, in fairness, you only get one career and he wants to make the most of it.

Did anybody see N'Zogbia's (Ashley's potential replacement) goal against Blackpool?

Class, If a Manure or Spurs player had done it, it would have filled the back page of every national.

Yes. Would like him as Ash's replacement if he goes. I like Hoilett(sp?) at Blackburn too. And that bloke who's not getting a chance at Man City...Miller is it? Or Milner? Treats cramp for the other players.

I think yesterday outlined just how important Ashley Young is for us.  He never gives up, and his perseverance set up Gabby perfectly.

If Jimmy came back, then hot white coconuts would explode from my long veiny tree.

We miss him badly, but I can't see him coming back.

Wouldn't hurt to try though.

His celebration for our winner reminded me a bit of Barry's celebration when he scored at the same ground on the last day of the 2007/8 season. A few weeks before making it very clear he wanted to leave..

I really wan't AY to stay but if he does go I would rather he go to a side like ManUre where at least he has gone to better himself on terms of winning things

I suppose it's not unthinkable that he signs a new contract where we throw money at him but there is a clause in his transfer that he is allowed to speak to anyone who offers a reasonable but not stupid amount for him (£20m-£25m) like the deal Sergio Aguero signed with Atletico Madrid in January.

I think the image of James Milner playing physiotherapist after yesterdays semi-final should make Ash think seriously about wether he wants to leave us or not.

If we get the 3 points against Stoke which would almost certainly see us safe, and if Ashley is still refusing to sign a contract before the season ends, should we leave him out of the team for the last matches to give Albrighton or others game time?

No, he's still our most potent attacking threat and we're paying him a fair wedge, best to get the use out of him while we still have him.

Don't think so - that would just put his nose out of joint and he'd be absolutely certain not to sign in the summer.  Play him right to the end - an extra couple of points could be an extra couple of places up the league and so extra revenue.

For what it's worth I don't think he'll sign anyway and would be very surprised if he's here next season

Lets play him for the last 5 games and just enjoy watching him in his autumn years at Villa

Interesting that Petrov got the armband back yesterday

Ash decides to go in the summer;

If we did a deal with one club and we could do a 'realistic' player plus cash deal, who and what would you go for?

For me, I'd do the deal with Manure and take Carrick + Valencia and 10mill.....

Over to yam.....

Realistic? Then you say Carrick & Valencia? & £10m? UberLOLz.
