Up to 9th

Solid mid-table mediocrity

I'll take it. Unfortunately 16 points off 4th with only 5 games to go. Next season eh...

Really good and fast analytical...Cheer

Is that the first time all season we've won a game after going behind?

Thought we were excellent second half but was starting to brick it when we weren't putting chances away. Credit to Houllier for making the right change. And on that performance Ash must have put his price up by a few million. Best he's played all season for me

Fucking yes! At work, timed my break to perfection, ran upstairs at 4.49, put the tv on just in time for Gabby to give us the win, fucking beautiful!

He's scored at Man U, Anfield, Stamford Bridge, Arsenal, and virtually every local derby he's ever played in. Was there any doubt who'd score the most important goal of the season?

And yet there are some absolute know-nothing fucking clowns down the Villa who will still say he's rubbish.

Eat shit knobheads, safe at last.

We must be safe now... a couple of draws and its almost certain!

40 points with 3 home games left. I think we can all breathe a big sigh of relief. When you consider Blackpool are mentally gone, Blackburn, Wolves, West Ham, Sunderland all in a lot of bother and even Wigan despite an excellent win today, we'll be ok.

When the Villa are in trouble, flash the Gab symbol in the sky and he swoops down to save the day.

Tactical genius from the man GH.

Plus Watford get a great away result at Leeds. Brilliant day.

The only down side was a poor outing for Heskey, otherwise a decent showing but we could've made it so much easier. Similar to Bolton, but better at the back in the second half.

I thought Bent was outstanding and looks good value at the moment, long may it continue.

think 40 points will be enough however need another win to make sure but got 5 games to get it! Sunderland must be worried losing bent was the biggest mistake ever

First time we've come from behind to win this season, I believe.

Well deserved win, we were well in control second half, and should have made it safe long before Gabby's winner.

40 points achieved, 3 more from 5 games to be sure with Wigan winning away, should be safe I reckon.
Considering the chances, considering how much better we were, considering another good goal disallowed, 1-2 a great result.
Well done all of them.

Saw nothing of the game but nearly creamed myself when I heard on the radio that Gabby had scored. Right now i'd show him some man love if he wanted it.

Don't care how we played or anything, 3 points and safety almost in the bag!

I can tell you, that we should have by 6 or 7. The score at minimum should be 3-1, because Bent also scored another perfectly good headed goal. The defence, aside from the odd heart in mouth moment were very good. Finally thank Paul McGrath they have Carlton Cole up front. He is well and truly mince.

Great performance, Bent's best game for us, ash at the top of his game, downing superb, walker and young fantastic is defence and attack, collins back to his form when he arrived and nige and stan bossed the middle of the park.

The only negatives were a couple of mistakes from Dunne, some scary moments moments from brad and heskey looking like a player who hasn't played for a few months, but none of them were major and the little luck we got was more than deserved.
