About as strong as we could go. It will be Young off Bent with Gabby wide though almost certainly. I would actually play the England formation, with Young and Gabby wide and Downing central

That's fucking harsh on Carlos.

That will teach him to be a competent defender, our best centre half and absolute pro.

I'm trying to defend Houllier this season, but dropping Carlos again for them pair of twats is making it hard for me to do that.

Howard, Baines, Hibbert, Jagielka, Distin, Bilyaletdinov, Heitinga, Neville, Coleman, Osman, Beckford

Team for Everton

We should be going for the win against that line-up.  If we can not beat half of their reserves we don't deserve to be in the Prem.

Pretty workmanlike team from Everton, not a great deal of attacking flair.

To be honest, if we continue to play Gabby out wide and Ash down the centre we deserve everything we get.

It hasn't worked and it won't work (hopefully i've just tempted fate) and to continue to do so is madness.

And if, as some say, it's beacuse Ash only stayed if he could play down the middle then we are in far bigger trouble than we actually think as the lunatics really will be allowed to be are in charge of our Clubs future.

Man Utd back from two down to be 3-2 ahead. It could just be one of those days!

Even more stupid when Everton have Beckford, the type of player Carlos would put in his pocket and Dunne would get turned inside out.

Maybe it's a height thing and Houllier just lines them up against the wall and picks the tallest.

4-2 now, good result for us.  Comes to something when we are looking at those tossers to do us a favour.

I think Dunne and Collins might bully Beckford out of the game. At least I'm hoping that's what happens.

Carlos must hate playing Wolves. He always gets dropped the following game.

Looks to me like a 433 with ash and gabby up front wide of bent, could well pay dividends- I like the look of it .

I think Houllier is more concerned with the height Everton have at set pieces. As I said, it's a height thing. If Crouch was still at the Villa...
