Villa win, playing 433, with the front three all scoring!

If that happens my Mrs will be bow legged on Sunday...
Not if Everton reply with 4.

If so, kick her back doors in.

Is Luke Young fit again? Think we need his experience at lb.

Forgot about King Carlos aswell  :-[ :-[

Did Dunne get injured away with Eire?

                  Friedel

Walker   Cuellar  Collins    Baker (or L.Young if fit)

  Makoun     Petrov      Delph

  Young       Bent      Downing

Subs: Marshall, Dunne, Herd, Bradley, NRC, Gabby, Heskey

Think Luke Young is out for another week so he'll probably persist with Delph at LB. I'd then put Albrighton in midfield.

Bent, Young, Albrighton

That's a bit harsh.

Sorry.

Everton 0 Aston Villa 4 Bent, Bent, Young, Albrighton

Why do you have to be so pessimistic all the time SPA?

Try to look at things more positively...

GH will never do it but in the situation we find ourselves in I would make the first priority to NOT concede a goal and therefore I would play the following team:

                       Friedel

Walker   Cuellar  Collins/Dunne    Baker (or L.Young if fit)

                        Herd

 Albrighton   NRC      Delph        Young

                       Bent/Gabby

That team provides a very solid base from which to work from, unfortunately Downing misses out because we need battlers. Also I would go back to our old style of FAST counter attacking football for no other reason than it suites us and we have the players to play it, its not rocket science!

Unfortunately GH will NOT play that team or anything like it, so therefore we will lose!

Right come on Villa, there has been a break let this be a turning point. A surprise away win I'm going for.

I've not seen a more despondent pre-match thread in a long while.

Unfotunately I share the same despondency at the moment.

Can't see anything other than a 2 - 0 defeat and hanging by the skin of our teeth to 17th place.

NEWCASTLE, STOKE and WIGAN at home are key.

This will go one of two ways. We'll be well up for it, surprise Everton and win reasonably well...

OR

We'll get absolutely twatted. I think it's one of those games that just says either/or for me. I don't see a middle ground. We'll play really really well, or just look like a lame dog that needs shooting.

With that in mind...expect a 0-0 draw now!!

The players should be pumped for this

If there's evidence of a lack of grit, stomach etc for the battle and we get done, I'm not sure what the club does ??

Sack him, the players have won

Back him, they won't play for him, we go down

This is complex

So much attention has gone on the Newcastle game, whereas this is arguably more important.

A draw here would disprove these rumors of a lack of "steel", and would do wonders for our position.
