Good day for England. Even the 8th wicket stand of 84 didn't really detract from a good team performance.

I felt the bowlers lost a little discipline during the stand but ultimately after a strong opening partnership, we're well on top.

I'd like a 1st innings of at least 600 so I've got some chance to see some cricket on Saturday!

I'm at home in Kings Norton, about 4 miles away, and it's stopped here but still very grey. The one glimmer of hope is that it is very windy so there's a chance that it can blow over.
