Mini-fightback though from SL, 28 for the 9th wicket so far, looks as if they could at least make us bat again.
Wouldn't have expected this this morning though, it looked like a nailed-on draw

Well I got us the 9th wicket there, I now feel SL should bat out comfortably for the draw

What a session for england, SL completely folded under some very aggressive bowling and fielding

Cracking performance from a 3 man bowling attack.

Not many teams score 400 in the 1st innings of a test and go on to loose by an innings.

They should never ever go back to Cardiff again. More players on the pitch than spectators in the stand, absolute shambles. Terrible ground.

Much like Edgbaston last year against Pakistan where it felt like a County Championship game.  7 home test matches is nuts full stop.  Nowhere in this country had 5 days of decent weather.  A May test match is too early, it's too cold to attract casual supporters.  Cardiff has now hosted two test matches, and had two classic final days. I think that they can be fairly happy with that.

I think an end of May test is fine.  The weather the 2 weeks leading up to the test was very good, just bad luck the weather turned so bad.

Cardiff on the other hand no.  The crowds were abysmal at best for the first 3 days.  The ashes aside, test cricket is never going to sell in Wales.  The ground is too small even if full.  There are surely bigger grounds where Test cricket is much more of a pull where this game could have been played. (Old trafford, Headingly, Chester le Street etc).

I agree that there has been 2 classic final days at Cardiff.  Just a shame that one man and his dog was there to witness Englands excellent bowling performance yesterday.

KP is not doing too well at the moment, he must be getting dangerously close to being dropped.

I think he'll be in the team to at least the end of the summer.  One of the great strengths about the England set up is the consistency of selection.  I'd also back KP to come through with at least one match winning / setting up innings against India.(Such as his double century at Adelaide, which was scored at a great pace, giving us plenty of time to bowl Australia out second time around).

If by the end of summer his form has not returned, then possibly look elsewhere to at least put the frighteners up him.
