Robinson, Lampkin and Graham on target at Bodymoor Heath

Quote
Villa's U18s put on an impressive display to defeat Crystal Palace 3-1 at Bodymoor Heath.

Teenage attacker Callum Robinson headed the opening goal as Tony McAndrew's team turned around at half-time with a 1-0 advantage.

Second-half substitute Jason Lampkin, playing his first match for almost a year following a serious knee injury, marked his return by putting the claret and blues two up.

Palace pulled one back before Jordan Graham won and converted a stoppage time penalty.

I've just seen that we have a youth keeper named Matthew Coton who was born in Tamoworth.

Is he any relation to former Tony Coton (also born in Tamworth)?

Graham turned 16 earlier this month. Saw him play for England under-16s on the wing against Wales before Christmas (we got thumped 4-0), and it was a bit of a throw-back to school - he clearly has bags of talent and athleticism but tried to play the game as though he was the only decent player on the pitch and didn't play as part of the team at all.

Our Charlie Ward played midfield in that game in a Mark Kinsella style and beat George Boateng's club record for most sideways passes.

ward was appalling in that game....

graham showed fantastic ability on the ball along with power and pace, however, his distribution was very wayward... not sure if that was down to poor movement from team mates, as the rest of the team were awful...
