This was just posted on the FB page, as I don't twitter, anyone know if this is true?

"Just so people know, Barry Bannan has just retweeted this link and is in full support of it!! Keep this going and invite every Villa fan you know who is going to the game!! UTV!!"

I don't know if it is his account or fake but...

Have the other villa forums been notified? If it's going to work then it needs as many as possible involved.

So glad to have the prejudiced opinion that I formed about "ilsonvilla" on Saturday confirmed. The bloke's a complete w****r. Suggest you don't wander down to the Lower Holte with your wanky banners as you don't have many fans there!

Eight games and twenty four points to play for.  Come on you Villa Boyyysss!!  Battle, fight and climb that table.

A great idea.  Well done to all concerned.

i can ave opinion to you no or are you a steward?

At this point I'm just suprised you were able to spell "Had Enough Houllier Out"

No negative vibes for Newcastle. Lets re-create the Shef. United game of a few years ago.

What does this say in English??

The whole idea is to generate a great atmosphere which may lift the gloom around the place. There's already too much negativity around, so trying to create a positive atmosphere is a good idea.

Forget your scarves, the key thing is that my mate Rob must remember to bring his lucky woolen hat

Ilson, we are attempting to transmit some positivity to the team, you dopey bastard. I will stick that Houllier out banner up your arse if you bring it to the Newcastle match.

I have not worn a scarf down the Villa since I was 10 (37 years ago), if the players of our club cannot motivate themselves to beat Newcastle at home then I am sorry to say that we are doomed!

I had a nice silky one around 77. Wonder whatever happened to that.

The scarf, not 1977. I guess that became 1978.

Personally, I'd tell them to back off.  If the fans themselves can organise this then, imho, it will have more effect than being "sponsored" by the club.  It's great that they want to help, but lets see if we can do this ourselves?

What they can offer, is publicity, getting local reporters to get in touch to push the idea.

I really don't know what to do with this now. I'm scheduled for a discussion at 11am on Saturday with a representative from VP. Any advice?

Yeah go. See what they have got to say. But it if becomes club driven then it may feel plastic and not have the emotional drive as when it is spontaeously driven by the fans themselves. hardcore emotion cannot come from the club whatever they propose. But, if they say they will  unfurl our big flag then why not.
