The same goes for Dunne and Collins they have both taken the piss so bugger them off

That would be the same Collins who possibly scored the most important goal of the season and played out of his skin agianst Newcastle?  The same one who's been our best defender for the last few weeks?  I think you need to see the same councellor as Ireland!

And the same one who has looked like he's on drugs for almost the entirety of the rest of the season.

So he looks like this incident taught him which side his bread was buttered on doesn't it?  But this isn't a debate on Collins so I'll leave it there.

He's out for the rest of the season apparently. Can't imagine many Geordies are upset.

McAllister wants fully fit Ireland

Caretaker manager Gary McAllister admits Aston Villa midfielder Stephen Ireland has to gain full fitness before his "real talent" can blossom.

Ireland is returning to Villa to undergo rehabilitation work after his loan spell at Newcastle was cut short by injury setbacks.

It was a similar scenario during the first half of the campaign after Ireland moved to Villa from Manchester City as part of the deal which saw James Milner head in the opposite direction.

McAllister, who is continuing to deputise while manager Gerard Houllier recovers from a heart problem, said: "Stephen is an Aston Villa player. He's our responsibility.

"When he reports back, he needs to be assessed by the medical people here and then be set a programme to get fit.

"He has had all these problems for a long time now."

When asked if Ireland will still be at Villa next season, McAllister said: "He went on loan, it's not worked.

"He's had problems up at Newcastle as well, a number of injuries as well, groin, hamstring, ankle, he's not had much luck.

"There is no doubt he is a talented player but he's got to get fit before we see the real Stephen Ireland."

How does he get himself injured so much when he isn't even playing, it beggars belief!

An absolute fruit-cake!

As I said a long time ago, every expensive player should have psychiatric as well as physical evaluation before they are signed.

I still wouldn't be totally against giving him another chance if he comes back with the right attitude this summer. A new manager may help in that regard but ultimately the onus will be on him, whether he wants to turn things around here or merely put himself in the shop window.

Kevin, well said.

There's latent talent there, maybe Hughes will end up Managing him ?

From what i've heard he might be, it wont be at Fulham though

get rid. If he comes back next season it won't be long before he's back in the papers whether its for acting a prat or mouthing off at the club/fans/manager. He's a talented player but like Graig Bellamy, more trouble than he's worth.

Apparently Wenger does this in the form of a stupidly long questionnaire so it shows that some top managers agree.  I think he could do with adding a few questions to test the players bottle mind.

The fact he's already been in the paper slating Birmingham should be enough for us to tell him to fuck off.  Whether he thinks that or not, if he's being paid £50k a week or whatever it is by a club based in that city he should be a bit more respectful.

So he should, and for that reason, I hope we fuck him off.
