Theres no one to blame here but the club, it's not as if the signs weren't there.

To paraphrase a former manager, they got us into this mess, they can f***in' well get us out of it.

I still wouldn't be totally against giving him another chance if he comes back with the right attitude this summer. A new manager may help in that regard but ultimately the onus will be on him, whether he wants to turn things around here or merely put himself in the shop window.

Kevin, well said.

There's latent talent there, maybe Hughes will end up Managing him ?

If Ireland ends up back at Villa Park Lerner should insist that he gets mental health counselling.

Who - Randy or Napoleon?

It would be a lovely thought, although I suspect the insurance company would only pay out at the point when Kojak starts flinging his own poo around; something I hope he has already done in the vicinity of Joey Barton.

Well, at least we will have a pre-season to work on him and maybe if there is a new manager in place he might be a bit more receptive to his way, not that there has been anything wrong with the way GH and Co have been dealing with him mind.

Ireland is now drinking in the last chance saloon, if he wants to maintain his high level chav style existence then he needs to get his act together sharpish.

I admire your optimism, Bren, but it's a long shot.

The bloke is a wanker

he didn't want to come to us in the first place and then made it blatently clear he didn't want to be arsed - case in point crying off the man ure game only to go out on the piss.

Give him another chance or a pre season FFS are some people mad???

So what's the alternative....just let him drift out of the club for nothing?

If you bought a Ferrari from a car auction and got home to find out that it needed a lot of work doing to it would you just leave it in the back yard to rust while you paid off the bank loan each month for the next 3 or 4 years?

So by that rationale a player can do as he wants and because we have spent money on him we just put up with the shit? The fault lies with whover sanctioned the deal knowing that ireland is mentally deficient

The same goes for Dunne and Collins they have both taken the piss so bugger them off

We'll have to embrace him back at the club if only to try and get his value up.

Sell him.

Someone will be daft enough to take a punt. Bolton. Wigan. Stoke. That kind of level.

That would be the same Collins who possibly scored the most important goal of the season and played out of his skin agianst Newcastle?  The same one who's been our best defender for the last few weeks?  I think you need to see the same councellor as Ireland!
