Radio 5 now !!!!
« on: March 21, 2011, 08:16:00 PM »
Pat Murphy getting stuck into Houllier.

A tasty titbit revealed.  Richard Dunne could have played on Saturday at a push.  Wasn't asked and we end up with a midfielder in central defence.

Also said Ashley Young on way (glad was sat down for that revelation) and more worryingly he understands Downing is disaffected.

It really is one unholy mess !!!.  How has it got this bad in just 8 months or so??

Was this Pat Murphy with these 'titbits' or Houllier? Because though we all expect it, until this comes from club or player Murphy is groping in the dark like the rest of us.

CanT really blame any player who wants out after the lack of ambition stated by houllier at man city- players want to win things not see their manager throw a big cup game!

Downing is disaffected!

Poor love. He still feels better than most of our supporters though.

It may explain why he's fit enough to be called up into the Ireland squad.

Oh and yes, what a fucking mess.

Strong stuff from Pat Murphy. He thinks that Houllier can still get the sack, if we fail to win against Everton and Newcastle. He made the point that two places in the PL are worth about £2 million and suggested that Randy was aware that he could get rid of Houllier for less than that.

Ofcourse, good players won't hang around for Managers that don't seem interested in winning things.

And I don't blame them.

Stop dicking around, Randy, pull the trigger.

Sometimes things just don't work out, and this hasn't.

It was Pat Murphy yes.  He apparently spoke to Paul Faulkner today, hence the story on the BBC website saying that they were backing him, presumably?.

I find it worrying though that stories about Downing are coming out?.   Apparently Dunne had "trained well" last week and if that is the case, then however bad his form has been, he really should have played on Saturday to provide some experience at the back.   For what it's worth, by and large I don't think his form has been that bad since he came back into the team after Christmas.

He also even quoted the General on the other website, saying that Randy is hearing the fans and will listen.

Overall the impression I got was that Houllier is very much on borrowed time, despite the statement today.  Lose at Everton and at home to Newcastle and................................... actually, don't even want to think of that scenario

If they are to sack him they need to time it right and not leave it too late. Lose the next two and they could have sleepwalked into relegation.

Though I wouldn't expect it to achieve anything, giving Ged the flick and bringing someone else in (or even McDonald back) would at least give supporters some hope that the club are willing to do something proactive. And strangely, even though his results were largely crap, the players would probably double their efforts if McDonald was reinstated just out of sheer relief.
