its time for Houllier to earn the millions he gets paid at half-time

i expect villa to come flying out of the traps at the start of the 2nd half

lets even show a slight bit of passion, we are in a relegation battle ffs

I expect to see us pushing for a equaliser and conceding a second around 60 mins. 1-2 defeat. I'd fuck Houllier off and get anybody in charge for the remaining games, nobody could do a worse job than he has this season.

Given what he inherited, and what's been spent since, Houllier is the worst manager we had since we were last relegated.  All this "signs of nice football" shite, we're fucking awful.  Randy, what HAVE you done?

Martin Jol or Sam Allardyce prefer Sam Allardyce as has a history of getting clubs out of the mess were in! Got the best out of Warnock also in his last season.

Houllier is a disasterous appointment and  he's going to be here for the rest of the season at least. I just can't see us winning another game

Doomed, doomed, doomed.

I've seen plenty on here calling for the kids to play, well they are and its a disastrous performance. We have no depth in the squad, how pathetic is it that we don't have enough cover defenders we are playing 2 midfield players as defenders, its crazy.

There's no fight, no will to succeed, so it looks like the midweek bonding session was a huge unquestionable success.

I'm just hoping its a Blackburn like second half, otherwise, they'll score several more.

Terrible performance. Stray balls and a lack of conviction all over the pitch. Will he change things up? will he bollox.

Hi fellas.   Just got in and on VS.   Apart from the scoreline - how we played?

not well Tony. Not well at all.
Bugger - I expected us to be ay their throats today.

we've been very flat, and McCarthy has obviously lit a fire under their lot. We look very unsure of ourselves, and we need an early goal in the 2nd half. The longer this goes the worse it will be, and I won't be in the least suprised to see Wolves get a second. If we get a goal in the first 10-15 minutes, I can see us having enough to win. But first of all, and most importantly, we need to hsve more belief. I just don't see where that's going to come from right now.

Afternoon all. Grim viewing I know however, lets not start knotting the noose just yet. Anyone remember Newcastle a few seasons back? Dreadful first half. Quick goal from Freddie B and the barcodes fell to pieces... and it was sunny too.

To be honest, we only really have kids in defence, and only due to injuries.  Albrighton I think has earned a start, and most others are on loan.  For me, the experience in attack should be asking more questions and Friedel should be leading more to support the youngsters.  There is an altogether lack of togetherness.

Petrov for Makoun for me at half time. He should be able for 45 mins against the crap Wolves have in midfield. Might be braver to give Bradley a run but his horror show at City would scare me. Petrov's experience is needed imo out there. We look an absolute rabble out there and his experience might give us a lift.

Our widemen have done well when on the right so I dont think there is a point bringing on Gabby. Full backs need to push on more and Bent needs to wake the fuck up. He looks like he has lead in his boots. Makoun has been absolutely shocking imo and part of the reason we cant link any play up.

The players look afraid of the occasion for me. All looking to someone else to provide some inspiration. Wolves are an absolutely shit side but they have spirit. We are gutless.

Relegation teams are the one that lose belief in themselves at the wrong time of the season and just sink. I think Wigan are already there, Blackburn are on a very steep downward slope, and we're not far behind. When I look at West Ham, Blackpool or even the shit or the baggies, they all have a nastiness about them to get them out of jail. If we don't find that it's going to be tough going. The aim was to get to the last two games of the season already safe. I'm not sure we will have done enough by them. I think the Bolton game really knocked the stuffing out of us, coupled with last weeks unsavoury events.

Quietest i've ever seen Villa Park

I'm not there today, but there's been a moribund feeling around the club for a while.

Against Blackburn in the first half it was incredibly tense. It seems similarly tense today.
