To be fair to them, they don't have much leeway to move it to another site. Coventry Station in the Lake District wouldn't really work.

It could do if the carriage doors opened straight onto that deep lake

Is the Rocket pub still next to the station at Coventry?

Always seem to remember there being fun and games there

Whilst I am prepared to concede (in case I set Morrisseybentybenty off) that Cov has some quite nice suburbs, and that Spon St in the middle is nice, the city centre is horrible, and the train station makes New St look like St Pancras.

I used to live in Milan and use their tangenziale (hellish orbital road) daily, and got used to it pretty quickly, but even now, that ring road around the centre of Coventry scares me to death, it is surely the most frightening road in Britain.

Yep, and from what I understand it hasn't changed. According to someone I work with its where all the 'Cov skins' meet before catching the train to away matches.

I think the station istelf is getting a refurb the same time as New St because of the HS2 line.

Agreed paulie lived here many years but I avoid the ring road at all costs- people getting on and off at the same place - frightening experience, I'd rather go the long way around- the rocket is still there.

Hs2 line is going through kenilworth and not coventry.

When I drive to places for salsa I hate driving to Coventry. If you went wrong way it is  difficult to find your way round.

The city centre is pretty awful and you are restricted to 3-4 decent pubs throughout it. For a night out you may as well just go up Earlsdon, one of the nice suburbs, and avoid the centre altogether. Other than that there are plenty of pubs in Chapelfields/Craven St that are decent and not full of chavs looking for a ruck.

I thought it was going through Kenilworth but stopping at Coventry first?

Doesn't your local Asda have it in the condiments section?

I worked in Chaventry for two years and thoroughly reccomend Earsldon for a night out!
