A bit of good news - Carlos has confirmed on a live web chat on the OS that he is "100% fit for Saturday".

That's a bonus.
I think we look a lot more solid with him in the middle.

I wonder if Collins will be fit?

3-1 Us   Friedel

Walker  Collins   Cuellar     Baker

          Makoun       NRC

Downing                           Albrighton
                   Young

                         Bent

Subs Delph,Pires,Heskey,Warnock.Marshall,Bradley

Surely to Christ this team can beat Wolves

Yes it can, but come 2pm on Saturday afternoon, don't be at all surprised when you hear that he's picked Petrov and Bradley in midfield.

Hopefully Carlos will get a run at centre back between now and end of the season, then we can truly assess his merits and see if he's worth a new deal.

If Collins does not make it will he be tempted to play Emile back there - good on set pieces and not slow, might do well there. Or will it be Baker with Delph at left back? Or Warnock in at left back - sensationally scoring the winner and thus ensuring us breathing space?

I would start Pires after Blackburn, everything good went through the old coot, and he has the nous at home to dictate a game clearly. I would be tempted to keep Makoun benched, and replace Pires with him on 60 or so - been a while since he played and NRC deserves his spot.

If you haven't already seen the thread, Phil Dowd is ref.

This game is turning into  Wembley Revenge/Save our Season/"Game of the Shite defence"

Makoun has to start.

Wolves are a much better team than Blackburn despite the league placings.

Makoun and NRC as a combo should have enough energy to combat O'Hara and Henry.

5 minutes in Bent is clear on goal.......Jody Craddock the nearest defender 10 yards behind pulls out machine gun shooting Bent dead and seriously injuring a number of fans in the lower north stand....Referee Dowd awards penalty and gives Craddock yellow card.

Do we know the outcome of the hearings at VP today about members of the defence?

(I tried to put this in as unexciting a way as possible - just thinking about saturday)

Is anybody else surprised that West Midlands finest have allowed this game to go ahead at 3pm on a Saturday bearing in mind the fact that it's a derby and current circumstance ?

Is it a derby in the traditional sense, though? Geographically, yes, but other than that, it doesn't really have much significance these days.

Although, I noticed the bloke over the road - who is an absolute dickhead - was wearing a Wolves shirt the other day. I might brick their coaches or something now.
