Inexperienced defenders not marking well enough caused the goal nowt more

Eh? A header from inside the six yard box into the corner?
If you can save them then get yerself to Bodymoor on Monday and show them!

The fault lay with nobody putting a strong challenge in on Cahill.

Till we sort out our shambolic defending, we'll be doomed to always struggle.

It's such a shame, we're capable of playing some really good stuff further up field, but we're just clueless at defending set pieces.

Best form of defence will be not to have to defend, and not concede any more corners.

Baker marking Cahill? I think Friedal has grown roots in his boots as well. Bent should have had a hattrick by now.

When that corner was conceded I said to myself, "Just type 'FFS/BOLLOCKS/c***s/SHITE' on the match thread now. Don't wait for it to be taken." I did. Really.

predicted that goal... appalling defending yet again...

so predictable... if i can fucking see it, why cant that idiot manager...

How can you blame the manager for poor defending from the only defenders we have fit? Who would you have played there that would have prevented that goal?

That's missing the point, though, Dave.

A bit of coaching at defending corners might do the trick.

Interesting you know which defenders to coach then, please inform us

So what fucking team would you put out to stop it?

its not just with these playes though, is it?

its been ALL season, and if it is with several different players, then surely the manager has to look into it and try and rectify what is an obvious issue...

I'm sure they do, but having to play a different back four in nearly every game can't be helping.

The defence must be the only priority this summer. The rest of the side are good, maybe a striker light but not if we play this system. Keeper is the biggest problem. Never comes for anything which means always under pressure, no communication and just poor. Need a centre back that organises and a defence coach! GH at Liverpool had a top defence, mainly down to Hypia. We need something like that to defend set pieces. Someone who just attacks the ball like a mad man!

Im not so sure I would blame Friedel for that goal at all. Its a close range header due to poor defensive cover, and it comes at him mid way body height. Probably the most difficult place for a keeper to get himself to for a reaction save.

That was expected wasn't it - I can only think of man City as our only clean sheet, could be wrong, but not by much - we were always going to concede.

Well gerarg better pray he gets out of this, because if he doesn't - I think his bridges will be burnt.

This is true, we need a keeper who is happy to take forwards and defenders with him to claim the ball.

Flappy Friedel is a liability in almost every away game and quite a few home ones too, although I'm not sure I'd blame him for that one.

Failing to capitalise on dominance and then conceding goals to added time set pieces is becoming almost a ritual. Blackpool all over again.  GET A FUCKING DEFENSIVE COACH HOULLIER.
