Risk Assesment..........tiny % Villa
« on: March 02, 2011, 10:23:25 AM »
Mods, if this needs moving please do so.

I heard that the Rags can't have a civic reception because a risk assessment has been carried out and deemed it to risky !

Now, not wanting to give their result any credence whatsoever, but what the fuck is that about !!
Putting aside all the things wrong with that lot, how can the council deny a reception to anyone in those cicumstances ?

If, god/allah/jehova, deems that this is our year and we go all the way in the Holy Grail, how will we feel if we are told that the club can't celebrate it in the best possible way, with an open top bus parade and a civic reception ?

Fucking madness I tell you....madness.

I've been told that the real reason is that the Council are skint and can't afford it.

Probably for the best, you just know that some of their staff would start spouting anti-Villa stuff, rather than savouring the moment.

Policing, stewarding, barriers, closing roads... cost a fortune. Perhaps we can have a joint one when we win the FA Cup? ;-)

I have to agree, it does seem wrong that either due to council cutbacks or concerns about safety our near neighbours will not be able to have something like this............

or this..............

Its scandalous. Who do we write to??

I've heard that the council have decided to let Birmingham have their open top bus parade through the streets of Minworth. It's the only place where the residents won't complain about the smell.

Why don't they get someone to sponsor it to pay for it?

I'd imagine that, were they to hold it in the city centre, the bill for cleaning up the gigantic pools of drool left by several hundred knucledraggers would be pretty hefty. It probably has quite a damaging effect on the paving slabs.

Hold it at the Sty and the drool just gets absorbed by the pitch.

To be honest i think it is piss poor and if it was us i would be disgusted
All joking aside if you have supported a team all your life and they have won fuck all and the day they do win a decent trophy to not be able to show it off in the city centre is anothing short of a disgrace.

Although i can clearly remember the championship win and European win civic bus tours - did we actually have them for the many league cup wins?

If not then ok - but if we did then i think it is a bit shit for them to be honest

We didn't have them for the league cup wins in 94 or 96.

I thought we did for at least one of them? I'm sure I went to one, either that or it was a very vivid dream and my memory is even worse than I thought it was.

Wood is too good for them.
