Well, I've got the legends calendar here at work and March is my boyhood hero Gary Shaw.

So a good omen.

Purchased the legends calendar after the match on Saturday and was disappointed to see I'd missed McGrath for January.

Thought Staunton was a strange choice too, nice calendar though.

Staunton selected to be one of 12 Villa legends?

Is that a sick joke? is he Mr April or something?

Peter McParland is April.
Staunton is November.

I have no problems with Stan being on there. He was a great player.

He was a great player.

Maybe. But would you say he was one of the 12 greatest Villa players ever? Is that the criteria for the calendar? I havent seen it.

No big deal, by the way, not 12-page thread material

No, I wouldn't say he was one of the 12 greatest Villa players ever. They'll save some other more worthy players for next years Calendar though in all likelihood.

Not a bad idea that. A calendar of Villa players we either love to hate or who were completely useless. Staring at Bernie Gallagher for a month would make me appreciate some of the present lot a whole lot more
