Coach or Car?
« on: February 26, 2011, 01:49:34 PM »
Decided to make the trek away to Bolton on march 5th, and was wondering whether to go by the Villa away travel coaches, or to do it myself in the car?

Anyone recommend what to do?  What are the coaches like?

Coaches were fine last year. Straight in and out and back in Birmingham by 7ish.

Nice. What's it like on the coaches? full of chavs?  is there a strict time to get back on the bus?

I would rather walk then get the Villa coah to be honest, no chavs as its more the opposite; very quiet and boring. Usualy straight in to the ground and straight home. I like to wonder around and explore the new surroundings with a few pints here and there. Bolton is in the middle nowhere though but fairly easy on train.

The Reebok is on the edge of Horwich, hardly the middle of nowhere.

An easy 2 hour drive by car and you can park very close to the ground.

Hardly downtown Manhattan though is it? Blues have more season ticket holders than the population of Horwich.

Easy to get to by car. Last time we went we parked on the car park outside the ground. Was easy getting away too.

Wasn't so good for the BBC chappy who was blocked in by hundreds of cars.

10 minutes in either direction and you're in Wigan or Bolton though.  There aren't many grounds which are in city centres are there? Newcastle would be the best example, but most of the other big grounds are in pretty shit areas, eg Villa, Liverpool, Everton, Man U etc.

Coaches are long thin things with wheels and lots of seats
