That pitch is not very football friendly.

To save the VP pitch from looking like Hinkley's pitch I suppose. I thought we played a bit too long and didn't support Nathan enough. Chelsea played a lot more triangles but they didn't really have a stand out player like Bannan for us.

I know we need to keep VP lush but there has to be something better than Dingley fucking Dell.

Surely to God all the money we spend on pitch technology means Villa Park can cope with a handful of reserve games.

Surely our Stiffs should play at The Sty as most of them end up there

Why we are risking our potentially valuable players on a surface like that is beyond me.

It was a bit of a pudding but it didn't look dangerous and was firm enough on the wings, just a bit muddy in patches. Aren't we always going on about how PL teams should do more for grass roots football? Well a thousand or so people paying gate money and tea, burgers etc must help surely.

Surely with all the money that has been spent at Bodymoor Heath they have a pitch that can be used?

There's no spectator facilities.

I quite like the idea of taking the games round a few grounds, but maybe we should do it mainly in the early part of the season when the pitches will still be pristine. I don't mind our youngsters roughing it a bit, but they're not going to develop into the Brummie Barcelona if they have to play hoof football every week due to the dodgy pitch.

Why are we helping Hinckley out ? Shouldn't we be helping someone closer to home ??

Closer to home the locals are probably all Villa fans any road, playing here stretches us into Cov & Leics territory and annoying them can never be a bad thing.

The problem with Hinckley is that the ground is shared by another club (Hinckley FC), so the pitch is played on roughly twice a week, every week.

Have I read it wrong, or is that a couple of games that Herd has played at right back now?

I can see him being a crowd favourite if he makes the first team, doesn't offer much going forward but seemed to love flying into tackles.
