Villa Streams again...
«
on:
February 20, 2011, 12:47:09 PM »
A while back, in my cups, I posted on here questioning the efficiency of Villa Streams in delivering football matches to my computer. The consensus was that I was probably doing something wrong and that Villa Streams was brill. Then the thread was locked for breach of some etiquette I still haven't been able to fathom.
Well, I'm still not getting it. I pay them 12 quid a quarter and tonight, despite the fact that they tell me I can watch the Yam Yam derby, I, instead, get Eamonn Fucking Holmes and some bint yacking about celebrity skating and a fat female chef cooking lamb. Now, If I want to watch Eamon fucking Holmes - and believe me, I never do, never have done and never will, ever - I could doubtless find the fat unctuous fucker for free somewhere. I don't. I want to watch West Bromwich Albion play Wolverhampton Wanderers as Villa Streams clearly state I should be able to.
I could complain to them I suppose, but last time I did - twice, in one night - no one bothered to answer me.
Does anyone here have any knowledge of or influence with these people?

They're not giving me channel 3. They are giving me one channel, currently showing a reality show based on the conceit of an English bloke living with a Spanish lady. a kind of wife swap thing I imagine, and nowhere near as interesting as that sounds.

When I log in it defaults to channel 1 but the channels 1 to 10 are listed below. Then I click channel 3, wait a few seconds and then make it full screen. Are you using MS Windows?

Occasionally it offers 10 channels at the bottom of the screen and then sometimes it doesn't, tonight being a case in point. At least Eamonn fucking Holmes has gone. And the Spanish looking one is half do-able, it must be said.
On reflection, a bit better at looking at Mick "Picasso nose" McCarthy.

There are 10 channels, altho' they're not all used at any time. I'm watching a super stream of the B.Country derby at the moment. Best £30 I've spent for some time.

Next time you log in try pressing Ctrl + F5 to fully refresh the page. It won't work in full screen mode though.

Maybe it's a Flash issue. What browser are you using? (I know you're probably not there anymore, but this won't be the first time I've been left talking to myself.)

I thought the channel links were just normal web links but they're actually flash based, the Ctrl+F5 trick may work but you can also try downloading the latest flash player:
You can get it here
This would be a good move as older versions of flash are wide open to attacks that can get you viruses etc. The later versions of flash also auto update, the latest update for me came today and it finally supports multiple monitors so it doesn't lose full screen mode when you click on a different application. Flash updates are as important as Windows updates.

Back again. Thanks rjp and Don Corleone. I'll get on the case.
They're showing cricket now. Cricket or nothing. Still just the one channel.
