They need 3 from the last over.  Shocking result from England.

Didn't a John Mooney used to post on here?

He was certainly on a mission from God today.

Well played Ireland, shocker for England... all those injuries maybe means they played too long in Australia.

Now that was bloody exciting. Commiserations, but (to these untrained eyes) I think the best team won.....

EDIT: In this game, obviously. Bit of a "Doncaster moment" for England though.

Well fuck my old boots.

Looked like a game too far. Players looking fatigued and tired in the field again, no real zip.
Shouldn't have made any odds with 320+ on the board and having Ireland 115-5 at one point.

Credit to Ireland though, shouldn't necessarily be the huge shock I'm sure it will be made out to be as a fair few of that side are involved in county cricket. Great for associate nations and hopefully the wider cricket game.

That makes the South African game even more interesting at the weekend!

Well done Ireland, but it is staggering how we persist with Collingwood and Anderson. Our bowling and fielding has been an utter disgrace, 4 or 5 dropped catches again. Pathetic.

I think they are all too knackered, I think some of them have come  Billy Big B........cks after winning the ashes. And Collingwoods confidence is shot and needs to be dropped, same with Anderson.

Very well played by Ireland. That was an astonishing performance by O Brien. Hopefully, this is the big wake up call we need for the rest of the tournament?

I'd keep the top four as they are, but make a few changes for the rest for Sunday morning...

Strauss
KP
Trott
Bell
Bopara
Prior
Bresnan
Swann
Broad
Shahzad
Tredwell

If Broad is injured, bring in Wright. There's nine potential bowlers there, surely giving Strauss alternatives if - as today - some players don't perform with the ball.

Or we can persevere with Yardy, Colly & Jimmy and go out with a whimper? It's not as if Strauss & Flower are afraid of big decisions (look at the way they preferred Sidebottom to Anderson for the T20 WC and won it!).

My concern is the lack of runs from number 5 onwards. We saw it on Sunday against India and again today against Ireland.

We built a solid platform in both games but once the big partnerships were broken we were unable to capitalize and lost cheap wickets. We're missing Morgan and whilst KP opening seems to be a good move so far, he leaves a hole at number 3 or 4. We don't have a shot player coming in at the death to play the big shots. We have too many nudgers and nurdlers and not enough powerful boundary hitters.

As I said in all three games we have been carrying Collingwood and Anderson and they need to go. Some of the dropped catches were appalling and they better buck their ideas up massively.
