Pietersen did well as an opener though, better than Strauss who seems woefully short of form all of a sudden.
If Prior can bash a few we should get a decent total.

Swanny not playing again though I see, not good, we need him.

273 all out. Again not using up the 50 overs and again a collapse when we need runs at the detah. good to see Collingwood get some runs. We may win this game but we can't afford to collapse if we want to beat teams consistently.

The tail didn't wag much did it!

Still, tail-end runs are a bonus and Broad and Bresnan will usually get a few, we need someone further up to stick around for the full fifty.

Sounds a bit more encouraging, but we do need to bat the 50 overs.

Good to see Colly and KP get some runs, they needed them.

Pak 169-6. great spell of 6-1-12-3 from Broad.  Good from Bresnan also. Good to see Colly also in the wickets. This will be a good win - but I still worry about the frailty of the batting line-up. The bowling in all forms has been top notch for a year or so now, whilst the batting is very hit and miss.

206 ao. Five for Broad - 8-1-25-1. Better than the Canadian performance and a good win.

I would have thought that Swann has only just arrived in India. He was in court as recently as Tuesday of this week.

Agree with everyone about the Ashes ODI schedule- madness.  Blame Channel Nine (Aussie host broadcaster) for wanting this schedule and Cricket Australia and the ECB agreeing to it for a few extra $$.

England no chance, so it'll be between India, South Africa, Sri Lanka and Australia.

I'll go for India based on their batting and the hosts factor.

I'd forgotten all about this. They really don't play enough one day cricket these days.

Oh yes, his drink driving charge wasn't it.

He got off the charge on a technicality surrounding the blood test.

Complete no contest between India and Bangladesh to start it looks like.

I think thats going to be pretty indicative of the first four weeks of the tournament.  Its going to take that long (barring a huge upset or two) to get rid of the likes of Bangladesh, Zimbabwe, Kenya, Canada etc.  Only then will the meaningful cricket take place.

On the game today,  India look incredibly powerful batting wise.  Getting to 370 without Dhoni and Yuhraj Singh having to bat sends a bit of a message to everyone else.
