What was first used at the 1969 FA Cup final and has been used by just about everybody in this country since then?

Just logged back on and we've not had the right answer yet, so here's another clue.

I was once hit on the arm by one during a game at The Sty.

No. Good try. He was Ex-Chelsea though.
Bonetti , England, played for Chelsea. The others played for different big name teams as was back then.

50p coin?
At last, well done.  Yes, referee George McCabe used the first ever 50p coin for the toss at the 69 final between Man City and Lecester. The coins were released to the public in October 69 to replace the ten shilling note in readiness for the move to decimalisation, which was 40 years ago this month.

Here, there and everywhere. Just things I pick up from time to time.

Thanks, your knowledge is pretty impressive I must say. Do you practice these at work or something?

Ah, now I know who you are!

Who was the post-war superstar who scored two goals in the Cup-Final and saved a penalty in the process?
One goal in the first half. He went in goal when the keeper was injured during the scoring of the equaliser. He saved a penalty to keep things level and came upfield in the dying minutes to score with a dramatic header to win the FA Cup!
Clue: It was pre-colour

I thought John Aldridge was the first player to miss a penalty in a Wembley FA cup final in 1998. So either I'm wrong (likely) or its a trick question. Can you confirm this is the FA cup and we are not talking womens or Youff.
