Rather appropriate Phelps finishes with a Gold. Fair play, 18 Golds, 2 Silver and 2 Bronze is some going.

Womens Team pursuit Gold medallists and 6 x World Record Breakers....what a team..well done girls    team performance of the games so far?

The only downside was the repeated screening of Paul Macartney every other shot

At least the crowd taught him how to sing Hey Jude.
Interesting to note that the cd release of the music from the opening ceremony doesn't include McCartney's offering...

Weirdly they had a lot of the walk out music for the teams, but missed out the David Holmes Torch relay clip overlay.

We could have Brits getting close to his haul but the Olympic committee decided that multiple countries can still enter 40 odd different events in the swimming, but cycling is reduced to one entry per country and cut several of the events.

That young scouser could easily inherit Jess's title for the next Olympics if she continues improving.

According to a mate of mine Stateside, who has had personal dealings with the bloke, Phelps is a jerk.

If a kids surname is going to be Johnson-Thompson, you'd have thought that her parents would have chosen a shorter first name than Katerina. Must have been hell for her to learn as a youngster.

I probably expect her to be known on the playground as Kat To Jo.  Most probably thought she was Japanese.
