Terrific perfromance by the British women to beat Brazil 1-0 (Kelly Smith missed a penalty too). Our left back (Stephanie Houghton) has now scored three goals. Sign her up!

Brazil were frequently breathtakingly cynical too. As a reward they play World Champs Japan and we play Canada.

For all the moaning about the make-up of the men's squad, there are two Scots and the rest of the women's team are English. (Although three play for Birmingham City).

Apparently, I could be swimming - or make that sinking -competitively for the Marshall Islands.

I'm closest to a Turkish taekwandoer and two British swimmers.

Not convinced of the accuracy though. I may well weigh roughly the same as them but my weight is in fat their's is in muscle.

On a seperate note, has anyone noticed that the BBC have got Peter Drury in to do some of the commentary, and I was certain I heard Clive Tylsley the other day to.

They really are scraping the barrel with these two, I'd much rather hear the thoughts of former olympians in that particular sport compared to their scripted nonsense and opinion.

Bad blood happening in the Badmington mathc fixing. Olympic chiefs are washing their hands of it and saying it is up to the Badmington Federation to do something.

I'm surprised that, coming from that background, you weren't part of the Opening Ceremony  ;)

It seems like it isn't certain that fixing a badminton match is even against the rules of the Olympics.

It is was definitely against the rules, I doubt that the teams would have been so blatent

They had Alan Green to do the Rowing on Five Live; first words - 'Who designed this commentary position? If it rains we'll get soaked. I can't see all of the course etc., etc.'

I fucking hate that ******.

Today - we will win some Gold medals.

Just spent my first night in Stratford -fairly quiet - got a meeting to find out what we are doing in the stadium when the real sport (Athletics) starts on Friday.

I'd post a picture from my bedroom window but worried about security issues. went to pick up our uniforms yesterday. Very comfortable but you look really silly in the formal kit with that hat on.
