Hilarious seeing the French reel in the USA in the relay and beat them.
Yup, really enjoyed that.

Particularly liked seeing the Australians balls it up. Weapons of Mass Destruction indeed.

I know Great Britain won, but Pearce really is a useless manager. He's getting massive praise for bringing Sinclair on, but he should have started.

Started instead of who? It's not like we were poor in the first half apart from not putting the ball in the net.

Yeah useless substitution. GB immediately scored two goals and put the game to bed.

Has anybody on here got tickets?

I'm going down tomorrow as I'm working at the Athletics in the first call room. Which means I'm in a tent by the warm up track. As there are so many empty seats I'm hoping to see some events in my spare time.

Taking my notebook and hotel has WiFi so will send back reports.

Hopefully we can start winning a few more medals.

Bloody fucking marvellous so far.

Women's cycling yesterday was great.

Family sitting round yesterday discussing the aspects and techniques of synchronised diving and merits of beach volleyball.

The only thing I haven't liked so far is the dressage.

I think the wonderful thing about the Olympics is that it is less tribal than our major sports.

In football, aside from Villa and England games, I usually find myself having to side with a team because I hate them less than their opponents. In the Olympics i think most of us want our athletes to do well but if they do their best and fall short we still feel happy for the athletes who win medals. I was up late watching the weightlifting last night and the crowd were amazing, willing on each participant.

It is a brilliant feel good event, for me at least. And that is my excuse for watching the beach volleyball.

Ok, a question for all you Olympic fans...

What's the shortest amount of time you need to compete to win a medal?

Ie the footballers have to play 9 hours to win a medal, but Usain Bolt could do it in about 40seconds...

The beach volleyball I have really enjoyed.  Yes, looking at fit young girls in tight clothing is quite easy to enjoy even though they are so fit there is very little body fat and as a result not much up top to focus on.  That aside, the games are close and exciting with each point celebrated with lots of touching and hugging, which is nice.
