I thought Michael Jamieson also did himself proud, both in the pool and the interview after, when he thought to big up the young lad who finished last.

Great stuff
Jamieson silver was the best performance of the day. I know there were a couple of golds won but to get silver where the gold went to a new world record time is amazing.

Loved my day at the Olympic Park yesterday. Two woman's basketball matches: France and China beating Canada and Angola respectively. Not my sport but I enjoyed the skill and the atmosphere was great.

We were then going to rush across London to catch Wiggo in the time trial, but in the end settled for watching it on the big screens in the Olympic Park.

Off to the volleyball at Earl's Court this afternoon.

I'm really enjoying the olympics, and have been watching stuff I'd never normally give a second thought to, eg gymnastics and swimming.  But bloody hell, water polo?!  Is there a shitter, less entertaining sport to watch on TV?  And despite getting roundly pasted, the GB team goes through despite being bottom of the group, because all teams qualify.  Eh?!

Water Polo is rubbish agreed. I'm the same though Risso, I've really enjoyed the swimming. I like the way they don't mess around, walk out and get straight on with the race.

Had a great day at Excel yesterday, Mens & Womens judo finals incl medals ceremonies.  Transport was a doddle, we even took the Emirates Air Way from North Greenwich to Excel, top views!
Volunteers were very good, happy, smiling & jovial, good banter with the crowds.

We did have a seating issue which was dealt with swiftly & decisively by volunteers, straight no quibble upgrade to ring side seating for 4 people.

There's always a but though.  Food at the venue was disgusting, no wonder the French think we are savages when it comes to food, it was embarrasing.

Men's 4 really underperformed there. They should have beaten that field.

I could be wrong but I heard that the food options is largely controlled by the sponsors.  Does that sound true based on what you saw?

As far as beverages go yes, you can only purchase Coke products, ie Coca Cola, Sprite & Powerade, beer was Heineken, there was a cider as well, sweets & treats, Cadburys stuff only, same for ice-cream, Cadbury 99 Flakes only.

Food in venues varies venue by venue, at Excel the main concourse vendors that are permananet are open serving whatever food they have so the myth re McDonalds only is just that, a myth.  The food court inside the specific venues are temporary just for the Games, at Excel the chice was pre packaged sandwiches from stand 1, baked potatoes from stand 2 or noodles at stand 3 all served with a Coke product, Heineken or a cider and any ice cream you like as long as it was a Cadbury 99 Flake.

I can live with the limited range, the quality & standard of the food was shambolic.

Yeah that was awesome. She was really emotional afterwards too. Call me sentimental, buts its great to see sportsmen and women showing emotion.

Wilson looking good in the shooting. Never would have expected to enjoy clay pigeon shooting. 4 shot lead with 12 to go. All the others are separated by 1 shot.
