Meanwhile, Boris Johnson has taken Gold in `Hanging on a zip wire waving a couple of flags and looking like a twat`.

Thats like a scene from Dad's Army , Boris Johnson as Corporal Jones. All that's missing is is David Cameron aka Mr Mainwaring.

How nice did those rowing girls seem in the interview with Lineker. Well done ladies.

I thought they were lovely.

I thought Michael Jamieson also did himself proud, both in the pool and the interview after, when he thought to big up the young lad who finished last.

Great stuff

Wiggins has to be knighted now.

Forget the Knighthood, he should be Lord Wiggo of Kilburn.

However, does him being Belgian by birth exclude him from such awards?

He'd go up even further in my estimations if he were offered it and turned it down.

I don't think so as one of his parents was English. If they were both Belgium or Australian but had lived all his life in the UK, that might have excluded him.

Awful miss by Sturridge (although tempered that it was called offside) but good save by Butland against the Goofy Racist.

Has Lawro's balls finally dropped as his voice seems quite deep today. I didn't realise it was him until he attempted a poor pun.

And now we have a walkover but they still have to come out with their gloves on.

The badminton players and the mardy Korean fencer aside, I'm really heartened by the sportsmanship in the Games so far. The winners seem genuinely nice people who you want to root for, and the losers take it on the chin.

The Great Britain football team seem to be able to pass and retain the ball. Long may it continue.
