Stoke are a more ambitious club than us right now. In Europe, and a decent squad. Palacios and Jenas would improve them.

I am stunned that after the anyone that goes will be replaced comment, we have seen Young, Makoun and Hogg go, and no one come.

mcleish confirms deal for enda stevens but says nothing about any other players.
Aston Villa boss Alex McLeish has confirmed that he has lined up a deal for Shamrock Rovers starlet Enda Stevens.

The 21-year-old defender, who can play left-back or centre-half, is set to join Villa on a three-year deal.

But Stevens will not move until January, so he will be able to feature for Shamrock in their maiden Europa League group stage campaign.

McLeish is looking forward to working with Stevens, having beaten a number of clubs to the Irish Under 21 international.

"We've been watching Enda and have been very impressed with his exploits in the League of Ireland and in Europe," said McLeish.

"He's a young prospect, a boy with bags of potential and we're excited about doing a deal which benefits us and Shamrock."

Not until Jan according to SSN..Shamrock Rovers are playing in Europa league.
Could be a good, astute, signing.
I like the idea of bringing in quality Irish players.

Am I the only one who thinks getting rid of Makoun and potentially replacing him with Jenas is a pretty awful piece of business?

I really don't get it either, it just doesn't make any sense.

I would prefer to have both Nick. I think Jenas in front of the back 4 with Delph or Petrov will do a good job to be fair.
