There is an amusing theme on this site over the past few days and weeks, with various posters falling over themselves to prove just how little they care these days about The Villa or football.

While posting on a fan site.
I still have interest, its just like having an interest under the influence of Prozac. Villa losing a game used to piss me off all weekend, it's now forgotten within 30 mins. I was gutted when Barry left but now he was just the catalyst for what appears to be a descent into mediocrity. Apart from the youngsters things are very dull.

Ultimately we have no idea what is going on and hanging onto every tweet, leak and echo in order to either slag off the club, owner, manager, other fans - it is a sad state of affairs that people can get so worked up over chinese whispers and rumours - wake up people!

Whatever happened to ITSOTP??

As far as we know No Juan has turned us down and we may not even have been after No Juan.

I think supporting Villa is great at the moment.
I do love a good moan.

We've had three months to scour the globe for a midfielder and we come up with Jenas to best option to add to our squad. You couldn't make it up.

Has McLeish been employed as a scape-goat and this is all a cunning plan to get us back on the right track next season once all the deadwood has gone...

Echo that. Also,  The Guardian website has (another) dig at AV. At least this time it rings true, saying we have known Joe Cole has been on the market since the end of the season, yet approach him with half a day left. What do we know now, that we didn't know at the beginning of August.

It is not even like AV have just been hit with injuries, everyone and his dog knows we have been short of playersall along.

Evidentally we're in for  Nolberto Oscar Juan from Serie B side Padova.

Defensive midfielder who can also play right-back. He's of Paraguyan descent with an Italian passport, so work permit issues won't be a problem.

Will this ease our fears for the season?

ITK: Carlton Palmer on a free.  We're going to sign him one day, may as well get it out of the way.

Can you really see Joe Cole in a tracking back central midfield role, as no doubt the manager would want? If he couldn't prove himself in a fairly free flowing liverpool, then not really sure how he will be allowed a floating creative role with us. N'Zogbia enjoyed a free role at Wigan, yet he has been shoved out on the wing already with us.

cole has already signed for lille, dont worry about it.

Thank goodness. Though thinking about it, perhaps he might of . . . .

You could say that of any clubs that sings a player on deadline day.

I'd take Palmer. Centre-back, centre-mid, strong. Just what we need.
