Jenas wouldn't be bad...but would he be an improvement on Reo-Coker who we elt go for nothing?

Crazy policies at the villa these days.

JamesNursey James Nursey
Two arrivals today at #AVFC. Alan Hutton and J Jenas from #thfc. Moves for Hargreaves and Steven Davis failed.

Normally I'd be complaining that we'd be after Jenas. But right now, I'd take just about anybody. We need bodies.
Thats all he will be a body.No thank you.

So who would you like?
Messi.

LOL we would all like Messi in our side but lets be realistic.  Every name that seems to be linked with Villa, there seems to be an opinion of "we dont need him" or "he isn't good enough" etc etc s o who is good enough for villa in the current situation we are in?
Jenas would be a disaster.Phil Neville would do a better job than him.And I never thought I would say that.

I will ask you again, so who is good enough for villa in the current situation we are in?  Not who isn't good enough for villa.
This is what I dont get.It looks like we are buying for the sake of buying. If the players coming in are the same quality or worse whats the point.Squad fillers at best.

How would we know who is good and not good enough for Villa..................We don't look.

Villanation, im looking for opinions of who people think are good enough as so far, every name that is mentioned for villa, they are either past it, shit or just not good enough according to peoples opinions.  Not one person has suggested a REALISTIC target who we could get.
I personally think, Jenas, Cole and Hutton would be decent additions to the wafer thin squad we have.

This is the real problem - we have wasted nearly 900 pages of this thread pontificatiing about realistic players that would strengthen the team / sqaud - and every one has (or is) being picked up by other clubs that have a pot to piss in - unlike us.

Examples being - Parker (likely to spuds), Barton (anus but would have improved us - to QPR) Bellendamy (see Barton - likely to QPR), Dann (likely to Blackburn - fucking Blackburn), Johnson (to Wolves) - and the list goes on

All of these players would have improved us and every single one  has gone to a club which we think should be below us in the pecking order - rightly or wrongly.  Bottom line is we are in the shit and to be offered up panic buys of Cole, Jenas and crap like that - well i reserve the right to not see them as good enough for Villa past present or future.

RL has shot his bolt and AM is going to have to make do with a squad which is arguably one of the weakest in my memory - that doesn't mean we should take any old clubs crap just to fill a shirt - if this is the new path of the 5 year plan then give me a shirt - I wouldn't improve the squad but least i give a shit about the club and would be cheap - which means i would tick more boxes than Jenas or Cole (even though he's of the radar now) for instance.

I'd rather give Clark a game in midfield than Jenas - just don't rate him!!

I will add that whatever you think of Jenas, we apparently went to Spurs for a player we wanted and were told £6-7 million and then went away. Now if this is a player we wanted, what's this nonsense about we have money for fees, but it's the wages that are the issue?

Just on BBC "Ribery to Chelsea confirmed fee of €22 from reliable sources in Germany."

20 quid? That's a bargain in anyones book, he may look like Chunk out the Goonies but he can play a bit.

Please give the quote button a rest plase lads, no need to endlessly requote huge messages, or we'll end up with one post per page.

Jenas is fucking average at best, goes missing in games. If we get him in its a dark sign of things to come. Type of player QPR and Fulham would go for.

If this is true, which I'd say in unlikely, then just because we have money for fees does not mean we'll pay what we consider to be over the odds.  It may be that we valued him at £4m and didn't want to pay any more than that.

The page went real slow for me there....I was beginning to get excited that there must have been breaking news and then it finally opened and we were still talking about Jenas...ah well.

I'm guessing that with Dunne, Collins, Cuellar and Clark the view is we have enough CBs already.  Shame though as he's a cracking player for that sort of money.
