Rather than pay him off as we did, we could have invited him upstairs as DoF or whatever and at least got something back for the millions we paid him.

I'd take Cole. Talented player in there somewhere. His wages are stupid, though. & I doubt we'd want to pay them - and rightfully so.

Joe Cole mmm, I really like him as a player, especially the player he was 5 years ago. I'm not sure that he still 'has it' to be honest but I guess we'll see.

With all the cost cutting of wages I can't see him coming here for less than what 40k a week?

Cole is a busted flush.

His showing for Liverpool against us last day of last season was the most anonymous I've seen in years - years in many of which Steve Sidwell played for us.

What a clever idea. Oh no, the man will never work again because he nearly died! There was no option to do anything with GED.

If we were to sig him I can see it being a month or two before he'd contribute meaningfully due to us needing to get him properly fit first.

It's be a gamble, but at this stage maybe on worth taking.

EDIT: but only on loan!!
