Your reading skills aren't up to much, are they Gregory? Not half as bad as you'd led to believe. If AM can work on Hutton's defensive game, we could end up with a bargain. Valuations quoted on there range from £7m to £4m. I'm not expecting too much, just a solid full back that's useful getting forward. For £3m, that's certainly more than you could hope.

Anyone else think that McLeish deserves a lot of credit in all this? There are many scenarios which could have got us to this point but whatever the reality I think he comes out of it well:

1) This is the situation which he signed up to i.e. he was so desperate to join us and he knew he'd lose key players
2) He's more recently had a chat with Randy and has been told the club needs to cut costs. He has agreed to this and has chosen to do it in a pro-active, even accelerated manner meaning that the club can grow again sooner rather than waiting till all the deadwood's contracts expire.
3) Or he's absolutely seething but is still going about his day job in a professional manner. The players certainly seem more united this season than previous ones.

I'm starting to like the guy. Start playing Bannan in Heskey's role and I'll like him even more.

I think we'll have a couple in by the end of tomorrow night. Eck is not going to want to weaken the squad any more than he's had to.

I never disliked the guy, and everything points to him being a very decent man (i.e. NOT a blue nose). Nothing has made me think otherwise since he joined. My concern was whether he was up to the job or not, and while there have been some positives (defense especially), the jury is still out on that front. I really hope he is up to it though.
