Rumours doing the rounds that Makoun is in Greece for a medical for a loan move, with a view to a permanant deal, to Olympiakos.

IF we replace Makoun with just Hargreaves then McLeish needs his senses checking. If it is Hargreaves and say an unknown like Kayal then fair enough, but Hargreaves, as good as he is, cannot be expected to play week in week out if Delph or Petrov are injured.

I'd take any from Carrick, Huddlestone, Palacios, Krancjar, Parker. Unlikely to get any of them I suppose as they'll all want superwedge.

Is there anything in this talk of Hargreaves or just speculation on here?
If he could stay fit he'd be ideal. Big if though.

I also think Hutton will be inbound soon. It "feels" right somehow.

I see Petrov has come out saying it seems like everybody else is strengthening. Come on Randy even our captain is fed up with the current situation.

Eck said he would not let anyone go without replacing them.

So Hutton and 1 other I reckon.

If that's true I hope replacement players are lined up - AM did say this week that no players would leave without being replaced, well, Hogg and Young have both gone and possibly Makoun. Who is responsible for this reckless selling? I doubt AM has any say at all - RL is a disaster this window!

Anyone tell me what QPR paid us for Young? I also read Hutton cost Spurs £9m, surely they won't let him go for less than £5m.

Last year of his contract and he's third choice at present.  No idea what Young went for, but i'm sure a 2-3m bid would probably get Hutton.

We do NOT to need to buy another right back. We have Lichaj, Herd, Cuellar and Beye that are all fairly competent in that area. If Hutton rolls up at VP I will be disappointed, not in the player but in the management! We need TWO midfielders at least, especially if Makoun goes all Greek on us and that's where whatever money we have should be invested. Anywhere else and it will compound the savagery of the cutbacks by mispending what we funds we have!

Lichaj - Young, promising yet unreliable
Herd - Same as Lichaj
Beye - Useless
Cuellar - A centre half, we're already a solid unit defensively, we need an outlet at fullback to add to the attacking side of the team.

Doesn't bear thinking about what the team could look like if we pick up a few injuries. if you're told me when lerner arrived that we'd end up with a smaller and less experienced squad than under DOL i'd have never have believed it. The guy's less ambitious than Doug!

Someone text me the same thing earlier, unless they'd read it off twitter as well. I hope not too.

Makoun going would be the last straw for me. Now its purely about who they get money for rather than any sort of team building.
