Alex Mcleish told Young he wanted him to stay, but Young has requested a move.

This is because he was frozen out last year and told he wasn't needed.

Well yes in a solid team like ourselves he would be fine
also can help bring on eric lichaj and albrighton.
Also albrighton would assist in  supporting salgado in defensive duties. I think good to have experience in squad. A proven winner hes quality yes hes getting on a bit but would bring alot to club imho

I'd prefer Hierro.

With Emilio Butragueno up top.

If your serious, and everyones entitled to an opinion, I think Salgado's terrible and we'd be better off with those already at the club.  I'd rather play Carlos at RB.

And as for Albrighton supporting Salgado with his defensive duties..., have you seen his attempts to defend? they normally result in giving away a free kick in dangerous areas.

Salgado's so old and immobile he needs putting on casters.

He played a lot if games for a man who was frozen out.

Never been a big fan, think he's a bit of a plodder, but if we don't bring in a replacement it seems a strange decision to let him go.

Regards albrighton he would benefit from experience and definately develop. Salgado is in the twlight years but has the football knowledge and proffesionalism.  Well kinda like pires.. Just a thought.
Anyway as long as we dont sign tony hibbert of everton then any other fullback is fine.
Do others have suggestions on signings into villa?
