Weimann has gone back to Watford on loan after agreeing a new deal until 2014

good news on the contract and on the loan deal. It will give him some much needed playing time. He looked quite good in the short time he was on the pitch against Hereford and was unlucky to hit the bar. Hopefully he can continue to develop his game and come back to us a better player. You can see how much it's helped the likes of Welbeck or Cleverly to go out on loan.

I can see Hutton coming in and then the closer we get to the deadline, it will invariably be loan deals -both in and out.  And that's not necessarily a bad thing - if the loans suit us. And are with a view to a permanent deal.

Not sure whether Ireland is just being given time to get up to speed or whether Big Eck flat out just doesn't rate him. But if he was to depart (or Makoun)  and we brought someone in on loan -we might be better for it.

We've let a fair few go this summer. But the numbers don't bother me a huge amount (though greedily I'd like more) as I think a number of our youth team graduates are further on in their development now.  The likes of Bannan, Clark, Albrighton and co can now be classed as proper squad players (minimum)  rather than wet behind the ears rookies.

Suppliment that with a canny loan move; ideally Milner (unlikely)  Huddlestone (depending on what business Tottingham do) or another choice completely from leftfield in place of Makoun or Ireland and we'd be in decent shape.

Barton going to QPR means Pardew could be back in for Ireland, so lets see how it all pans out.

I imagine it will be a like for like replacement for Young, with Hutton the obvious candidate. Seems to be third choice at Spurs. I imagine he's on lower wages than Luke young!

Did we really have two reserve right backs on £40k a week under MON? Jesus wept.

I wonder whether a double SPurs move for Hutton and Palacios might be looked at. Both would improve the squad and side now, in positions we need. Cuellar is no full back, Beye has done nothing for 2 years and is 33, so Lichaz is the best option at right back. The experience comment rules out Onourha I would think unfortunately.

Hmm.  Losing Young isn't the end of the world but he is a player who can cover both full back positions.  I'm not convinced by Warnock or Lichaz (spl?) so I hope AM has something lined up

Keeping their best players and bringing in some more.  What a novel idea.

Yep, Spurs have never, ever sold one of their best players in the whole history of football.

Will be sad to see Luke leave as he's a good solid defender. But I imagine that he's on nearer 50k a week rather than 40, considering MON's record, lets not forget he was chomping at the bit to move here, only a year into his smoggies contract.
Lichaj deserves a chance at a 1st team run IMO and Beye/Cuellar can provide back up for RB. So Lukey's wages could open up the opportunity for a top notch midfield general, although I have a feeling about Scott Dann too.

...He also turned down a move to Liverpool.  Whilst that it was generally rumoured because he did not want to move up north I would not be surprised if Liverpool were not prepared to match his wages too.

For what it's worth I'll be sad to see him leave - as for Hutton, I think he's shite and would rather give Lichaj a run (did pretty well against Gareth Bale last season).

I'm sure it's all part of the plan, as Special Agent Oso would say.

Yep, because that's exactly what I said, word for word.

That sounds like a typical Villa move. Buy another centre-back so that there are more available to cover at right-back.

Unless he came in to replace a centre-half - perhaps Cuellar is off?

Good luck Luke if it goes through, I think he's been underrated in his time with us.  I think Given and Nzogbia are good signings, but they were the pretty obvious ones really, this one is going to be more interesting I think (There you go, I've just about guaranteed Hutton will come as a straight replacement now!).
