Do you think Mcleish watched Beye`s brazillian type run against Hereford. And thought this is what we need Ha. Beye is not as bad as most people believe he has a height advantage over Young and seen a clip of him on AVTV and he looks seriously powerful. Lichaj is doing well for the USA and is adequate cover. £40k a week wages for Young could get a quality player elsewhere ......

No, I think Beye is in the same boat. If we got an offer for thim he'd be escorted to the exit. I think we're stuck with Beye until next summer. He's a decent enough squad player but when he goes there won't be any tears shed. Luke Young isn't worth £40k or whatever he's on either.

If Luke is on say 50 grand a week. We could some money say 2 millions for him and sign Hutton and pay him say 35 grand a week and use 15 grand plus other saving toward a fanstatic midfield general.

West ham confirm Scott Parker is likely to join spurs and is in talks with Harry.
Joey Barton agrees 4 yr deal at qpr so the 2 we have been linked to Look to have both gone elsewhere.
Harry on tv saying' I've always rated scotty he's triffic'.

If ever there was a spurs player in waiting it is Scott Parker. Overated by the West Ham obsessed media last season and now moving on to there next best thing.

as much as I would liked Parker, his staying in London was always on the cards. It would not have surprised me had he ended up at Chelsea as he lives close to their training ground, but it seems they are going with younger players now. Off course Spurs needed yet another midfielder as they are quite thin in that area. I still think Modric will join Chelsea.

Kendrick has just tweeted

"Don't know who, when or even what position for definite, but the suggestion is that if/when Luke Young goes, another player WILL be signed"

So good news

Keeping their best players and bringing in some more.  What a novel idea.

From Sporting Life Transfer Centre

Quote
Aston Villa manager Alex McLeish is looking to bring in a quickfire replacement for QPR-bound Luke Young but has ruled out a move for the midfield duo of Scott Parker and Darron Gibson.

Villa have accepted an undisclosed offer from Rangers for former England international Young, who is holding talks with the newly-promoted outfit.

McLeish, whose side entertain Wolves on Saturday, has to adopt a 'sell to buy' policy if he is to bring in any new blood before the transfer window closes on Wednesday.

But Parker (West Ham) and Gibson (Manchester United) are not currently on his radar and he has been linked with a move for Tottenham defender Alan Hutton.

McLeish said: "QPR have put a bid in for Luke which the club have accepted and he is talking to them now with my approval - as long as we can add to the squad.

"The deal is not done yet but the indications are he will go to QPR.

"We will be looking to bolster the squad with an experienced player. If we are thin on the ground, it is (in terms of) experience.

"We have got a list of players. We have to be ready with some names for the board."

When asked about Gibson, McLeish said: "He is not someone we have on the radar. We have discussed him in the past amongst other midfielders. But it is unlikely."

McLeish was equally adamant about Parker and said "Definitely not him but you could name 100 names and it is not my policy to talk about players until we dot the i's and cross the t's."

Former Tottenham and Charlton player Young is keen to find a club in London after moving his family back to the capital last season when frozen out at Villa.

McLeish said: "Luke was told he wasn't in the plans and moved his family back to London. He has been commuting from London to Villa in recent times.

"We were very honest with each other when I came here. I said I wanted him, I needed his experience, he had to honour his contract.

"But I understand his situation and he thought if there was a chance of getting back to London, the club would be sympathetic to that. I said only if it suits us."

On the Weimann thing, looks like he'll be in line make his Watford debut against Blues.

Fair enough.
Good player but not a critical loss; now let's see who McGinge brings in. My guess is that it'll be Hutton.
