NZonzi, Palacios, Barton or Parker would be decent choices for CM. I like Holden at Bolton but he's just getting over a bad injury.

what about alan smith as a dm ?

I would rather have Kevin Richardson back.

I'd rather the pundit Alan Smith.

W.Palacios is abit one paced for my liking, would not be too unhappy with someone like Cattermole.

The Doc

Cattermole is a walking liability. He has practially zero restraint or discipline on the pitch, and unlike someone like Barton is a decidely average footballer. The challenge he put in at the weekend should have got him a red, but Webb bottled it. No shocks there seeing as he also completely missed a blatant handball on the line from Larsson.

eastie, Pelty guaranteed there was money for transfers and I believe him 100%.
Whatever the issue with wages, that much is true.

edit: Cattermole? My god, this thread is bordering on insanity. He is one of the shittest most inept thugs playing football today at any level.

wouldnt hold out to much hope on peltys words as he he said himself hes not that much in the know and his own dad led us to believe mcleish would be well backed financially-im sure mcleish knows the situation and its pretty clear we have no money to spend as hes said it several times since arriving.

mcleish knows the score far more than pelty.

Although that is of course true, we've had the repeated message from the club/board that wages are a big issue and need to be curtailed.  I've wrote on here before that fees for players become club assets in a way that wages don't, so I think it's perfectly possible that we COULD spend another £10m on players, but need to do so within the confines of the target ratio for wages to turnover.

maz- peltys dad implied mcleish would be heavily backed and he hasnt even had the downing cash to spend, as pelty himself said he is not as much in the know as some think. mcleish however obviously is aware of the situation-

Asked how likely it would be to get a player out and another in before the window closes on August 31, McLeish replied: “We’re working on it.”

“We don’t have any money to spend at the moment until we trade. That is the way it is.

“I knew all the parameters when I took the job and that’s how it is just now.
“Don’t forget we spent £30 million in January so again I’m going over old ground here.”

Yes, I know all that. Pelty knows certain things and is guessing at other things. The transfer fees thing was something he was certain of. You need to read that thread again for context.

my god.  Not been on the site for a time due to work and home life, and open this link to read some people wanting us linked to Jimmy I-can-eat-a-whole-Roulade and Alan always-overated-Smith.  Where has the sense gone?  Clattermole?, are we worried we will not hit our requirements for yellow and red cards?  Come on transfer window, and clang shut on this madness.

ive read it and the generals comments about imagine a chairman who backs him etc , but sadly it sounds good but in the real world it doesnt add up, we have got rid of several big wage earners and brought in a lot of cash and we know several more are out of contract next summer before the new rules kick in , however mcleish made it quite clear we have no money at all to spend and cannot even loan a player unless we get rid of more .

I would love to add parker and and a couple of others personally.

If Wenger wasn't such a tool he'd sign him. Probably too old and dear for him. He'll rarely get a start now at City.

wenger should have signed milner given and bent when they were available, all proven in the top flight unlike some of the players he deals in.

i think milner will get his fair share of action at city in a team that mancini loves to rotate, and i expect milner to have a very good season for them.

There comes a point when you are better of not signing a player at all. That is sometime before you contemplate signing Alan Smith or Jimmy Bullard for a premiership club.

eastie, you need to differentiate between no money for wages and no money for transfers.
I believe there is a one in one out policy at the moment which is fair enough.
If Beye, Makoun or Cuellar left for instance and we lined up another player on similar money that cost a few million or something, the fee wouldn't be an issue, the salary would.

Something else happened that would explain it further hence "certain obligations werent met" but at the moment thats staying behind closed doors.
