Rodallega would be very good. Can't see it though. Maybe it's a story about pies.
22 goals in 89 games?

Haven't we got Heskey to fulfill our 'non-scoring striker' role?

Hey, less of that please.

Heskey's got 1 in 2 so far.  He's gonna score 19 in 38 by the end of the season.

Its a statistical certainty.

The young Wigan midfielder McCarthey has been linked with a few bigger teams. Looks a good young talent, not sure thats what we need right now, ditto Rodallega, probably internet bullshit anyway.

Very fair point.

I don't think playing at Wigan helps him Dave, and while the record isn't by any means spectacular, playing up front with someone like Bent or Gabby, you'd hope his pace and athleticism also open things up for others. Heskey wasn't bad when he was Rodallega's age either, quick and strong. I think he'd be a solid signing, but I will grant you there are probably better for the money he'd command.

Shouldn't we be spending what cash we have to spend ( if any ) on other areas of the pitch other than up front ?

yes, without a doubt. Signing a forward would be low on my list of priorities given our cash situation.

heskey heading back to wigan?

Makoun sold, Heskey plus cash for Rodallega, and the surplus spent on a decent defensive midfielder would actually represent a pretty good transfer window.

Sadly can't see it happening though.

Jean the second looking to stay.

How massive does his head look in that picture?

As DW said if you missed it. So far this season Heskey has scored more than Arsenal.

Made me chuckle.

What about Diame or McCarthy - both in positions we are short and good players at Wigan.

I quite like Rodaellga but I'd prefer to stick with Gabby and the Fonz.

In our present situation a move for jimmy bullard would be great hes a free agent
wolves wigan and qpr are all interested and jb would make a great addition to villa squad and midfield
