N'Zonzi is a decent player but no better. His obvious advantage is his height but I don't think he's really as good, never mind better than what we already have. I think we can do better and I hope we will.

Barry Bannan going for a header against him on Saturday was quite funny!

Does anyone else think AM might be keeping Ireland on the bench to force him into a move?  Even if it's only a loan if might free up enough wages to get another loan coming in, such as Parker.

Yeah seeminging alex mac not fancying him(ireland)

A swap or move on for loan would be ideal if ireland isnt making the grade

The problem with ireland is the same as with the other deadwood we can't shift - no one wants them

Id rather we get him out a on loan than Jean the second, especially as wee Barry may get his chance. Trouble is,that there can't be many more clubs Ireland can go to. Who'll take a chance on a guy who's hardly played in the last two seasons?

McCarthy was Ireland boss when he started fcuking around there, so I think that one is doubtful.

ireland will probably start tomorrow-its down to him to take his chance and hold down a place ,i think mcleish will be fair to him but whoever is in the team will have to perform to stay there- i dont think mcleish will have his favourites in the way mon did ,perform and you keep your place , dont and someone else will take your place and the thats the way it should be.

Makoun might well want to stay but i think Mcleish has other ideas. Think he is a player who will help creativity and ball retention for Villa. And i think against the bigger clubs that is going to be critical as we do not have many players who can do that .........

Sunderland would have him as he ticks one of their two boxes (Irish or ex-Man Utd).

AM has spoken very highly of Ireland since he came to the club. There's also no way the club are going to give up on such an investment just yet given what his current market value would be. I think AM will mix and match his line ups to suit the opposition, and Ireland and others will get their chance. He'll play tomorrow but I expect the Blackburn line up to play against Wolves.

Well, I'm always happy to leap on even the slightest hint of transfer gossip, and it doesn't get much slighter than this! Wigan journalist Greg Farrimond has just 'tweeted': "Can't say anymore except read Kendrick's story tomorrow"

So clearly we're signing Rodallega!

Or, er, is it something else?

What Martinez wants to talk to us now? Bit late son.

Rodallega would be very good. Can't see it though. Maybe it's a story about pies.

22 goals in 89 games?

Haven't we got Heskey to fulfill our 'non-scoring striker' role?
