Falcao joining Atletico Madrid for £35m, seem to remember we were heavily linked with him before he moved to Porto.

It would be interesting to see all the players wages at previous club, aston villa and current club (if they leave) to see how much different.

It would be interesting to see what we will be like if we never appoint MON.

maybe salsa, but mon shouldnt take all the blame as randy must have agreed the contract and wages as well.

Please Villa, sign someone, sell someone, anything.

I couldn't take yet another thread becoming all about MON's shortcomings.

Not convinced. Arsenal, Chelsea and Real have not played him. Spurs may be his level.

The term world class is used far too much.

Messi = World Class
Modric = Above Average

What a stupid comparison.

Messi = greatest player ever, therefor can only be compared with the likes of Maradonna, Pele etc.

Modric would walk into every team in the world bar Barcelona and maybe Madrid because of Alonso. To me that's world class.

According to everyone on here, everybody is overrated unless they are Ronaldo or Messi.

It isn't a stupid comparison the point I was making is world class is used far too often.  The only types of players who should be classed as world class at the moment are likes of Messi, Xavi etc Modric isn't world class and never will be world class.

Your doing it again, your trying to compare him with players such as Xavi and Messi. The current Barcelona team are unique, they will probably go on to be the greatest 'team' ever. You cannot say anybody who doesn't compare to them is not world class.

The likes of Rooney, Sneijder, Eto'o and Aguero are all world class even though they are not as good as Xavi or Messi.

In his position, as a deep lying midfielder Modric would walk into Man Utd, Chelsea, Inter Milan etc's first 11, which for me makes him World class.

EDIT: but as always this is a game of opinions and this is just mine.

We'll just have to agree to disagree.  The point I was trying to make is that I think the term world class is used for far too many players, I think it should only be used for exceptional players.  Modric to me has never stood out when i've watched him.

Fair enough, but when I've watched Modric he has stood out against top teams like Chelsea Man U.

Spurs will keep Modric. They'll let Palacios go and upgrade him with Diarra. Crouch out and upgraded to Adebayor. Clever business really.

Their squad depth is very good now, it's a shame 'cos we really could/should have been in their position had we got 4th that time. They're miles ahead now.

So in two summers we will have bought one player and seen our three best players leave the club,even after five years i still don't believe Randy has a clue.
