Well it won't be hitz as he's joined Wolfsburg on a 3 yr deal even though he impressed spurs during training with them.

In fairness to Makoun he came into a side threatened by relegation in a different country, and has only been here 8 months. Give him a chance.
Very happy to PW, but I'd just like to see a bit more from him. Hopefully we will on Saturday. I'd like him to have a stormer and score a hat-trick!

I think Makoun is a decent player risso and like many others needs time to settle and find his feet in the premiership, I think he needs to be given the chance to prove himself- I still believe he could go on to be a very good player for Aston villa.

He might turn out to be a good player, but I can't see that he'll be anything other than lightweight.

Makoun started well last season and faded.

He's a bit lightweight, but can pass the ball well, should be given a chance and I wouldn't imagine him to be on over £30k per week, so relatively cheap to run.

Mark Kelly will know more, but Vuckevic from sporting is being linked with Blackburn for £2m. Always looked decent whenever I've seen him, suppose we'll be giving Ireland another go though.

Also, Blackburn are after Lansbury on loan. I'd take him here, capable in the middle or wide right.

Bryan Ruiz? Spurs have pulled out after Redknapp watched him, Fulham's opening bid too low.

Interesting to read nurseys column online how highly mcleish has been praising and talking up Delph , but im a bit surprised mcleish is said to be 'not a big fan of the Lightweight makoun'.

Where  has Mcleish said he's not keen on Makoun then?

Read the post clampy and you will see It was an article by nursey on the mirror website regarding Mcleish's opinion on Delph and Makoun- of course he wouldn't come out publicly and say that!

No cigar phil, not even seen ssn in the last 2 weeks , far too busy with work  , all I've seen on sky recently was the test match at edgbaston- contrary to popular belief.

Ahhh James Nursey has heard he's not keen on Makoun. A huge pinch of salt required there i think.

I think the fact Delph was chosen and Makoun was benched suggests maybe you put your pinch of salt on your humble pie clamps!

Don't know about a pinch, more like a quarry.

Personally I hope Modric stays put.

Not out of any desire to see Tottingham socking it to the man. More because I've never believed 'arry's sincerity in wanting to desperately keep him.  He's just wanted to see the offer go closer to mental money before biting.

If Chelsea pulling out of the deal scuppers Tottingham's chances of landing Madebeyor and Lassa Diarra then good.  They'd be better with the latter two than they would if they just kept Modric.

Not all Eastie, it was only the first game, there's another 37 to go yet. He did'nt pick Ireland or Bannan, does that mean he dose'nt rate them either?
