Mathieu Flamini has no desire to join Aston Villa Football Club in the summer.

Alex McLeish has reportedly made the former Arsenal midfielder a target for his Villa squad during the window, as he looks to make the signings which could win over his doubters.

The France international has just twelve months left on his contract with Italian champions Milan, so could be available for a knockdown price ahead of the new season.

However, Flamini has delivered a snub to the Premier League club, by revealing he has set his sights on winning a new deal to prolong his stay at the San Siro.

“It is my intention to remain at this club and extend my agreement with Milan,” the 27-year-old told Corriere dello Sport. “I want to try and win the (UEFA) Champions League.”

Flamini is allegedly on something like £110,000 a week. If that's true then I'm not surprised that he wants to stay in Milan.

Palacios has never been my favourite player but it was clear that Tottenham were lightweight until Redknapp signed him up. Looking at our midfield, I reckon he'd be a great addition.

Palacious never really got a chance in CM. First the HUD was picked ahead of him and then Sandro became flavour of the month (understandable he looks awesome). Modric has the deep lying playmaker role tied up.

He was certainly promising at Wigan so it could be a good deal. If he can provide the destruction tat would allow Makoun/Bannan/Ireland to play their natural game then it'd bf a hood signing.

Anyone remember what he cost spurs?

Palacios has bags of ability, he's a far better player than NRC.

£5 million for Palacios? Too good of an oppotunity to turn down.

Sadly we don't have the money to do anything about it.

And £12.50 for Flamini would be great as well. Unfortunately both prices are ones invented by people in the last two pages of this thread.

Stoke are reported to have made a bid of £12m for Palacios.

Think Spurs paid £14 or £15 million for him from Wigan, who in turn only paid £1m from Small Heath, another great bit of business by SHA.

Not even that. Small Heath's new manager decided he hadn't seen enough of him to warrant spending the million it would have cost to buy him so Wigan snapped him up.

Don't know what became of the manager in question...

Palacios is available but for £10m, I just started talking about him as I think he's ok.
