I still think we will have another big signing or two, but keeping it quiet until he is available.

I salute your optimism.

As long as the big name signing isn't that useless ****** Shaun Wright-Phillips as we are being linked with this morning.

I don't know why people are so anti-SWP. He's not that old yet and I think we need three wingers.

Amen brother, though the credited source of the rumour was something like Caughthangingoutthebackofmymatesmissus.com, so was probably dreamed up in a 14 year olds bedroom.

We should go and sign Luke Chadwick then, because he is about the same age and we need three wingers.

Three years ago a poll on here said most Villa fans wanted him more than Milner. He's struggled to get into the Man City team but so would most players. He would now be a lot cheaper as a result and if he could get anywhere near the form he showed in his first spell at Man City he would be a great signing. Well worth a gamble I reckon. As you well know Wright-Phillips has always been a lot better than Chadwick you cad.

He may well be better than Chadwick, buy my point being that we shouldn't just sign him for the sake of it because we need another winger. We need a quality winger to come into the squad, not some shit like SWP.

If it wasn't for who his Dad is and gobbing off about him to the Sun readers of this world I don't think he'd be playing in the Premier League at the moment. He is Championship quality at best.

I think it's mostly agreed that we need another winger and if anything happens to either Zoggy or Albrighton, i'd rather have SWP come on and play wide than Gabby or Heskey.

Championship quality? That's just mental talk. He's got about 50 caps for England. I know a lot of shite gets picked for England but not as many times as him. I'm quite open to signing someone else if you can think of someone better that we could realistically get... Who though?

SWP is probably on 70k a week at Shitty, why would we want to lumber ourselves with the little man's big money??  Realistically?  Ranger's have tabled a £1.5 mill bid for Verhoek which will not be considered until after the weekend.  Realistic enough?  The difference in wages/transfer or loan fee/ signing on fee would be comparable to selling a player.  He's younger and unknown to Premiership defenders, whereas SWP is a pony that defenders have been flogging for years.

Phil Neville would do a job for us. Heskey is the exception that proves the rule!
