In all honesty a striker with pace who can drift wide and scored 13 goals at the top level last season , available for just over £1m- if he has never played for blues I daresay people would look at it a lot more openly.

We all want better but if that's the kind of money we have then whats to lose?
Gabbys finishing is not good enough and fonz isn't quite ready, heskey doesn't score goals , and if bent gets injured where will the goals come?

Why would anyone give a fuck whether he had played for Blues or not?

I wouldn't want him because he's not as good as what we have already.

Scored more last season than heskey has in several seasons, how many has fonz scored in the premiership?

For £1m a player who scored 13 teams in a relegated team- heskey hasn't done that in decent teams and gabby quite clearly isn't the player he was/ bent gets injured and we are stuffed- gabby alongside bent does not gel.

Dave are you serious- asking why some villa fans would give a fuck whether he's played for blues - didn't you see the anti blues graffiti when eck came- oh of course not you live in bath.

I couldn't care who played for blues but some clearly do.
I'd like to see someone come in as a striker of a higher class  but let's be clear -bents goals kept us up and we were in the relegation zone till he came , if bents injured then the other 3 won't provide enough goals.

I would like much better than Campbell but the money's not there - unless we get someone on loan- but proof was there last season the other 3 will not score enough.

Gabbys not the player he was , fonz is not ready and heskey  is not a goalscorer.

Personally, i'd rather give Fonz a run if Bent ever get's injured.

How many chances has Delfouneso had the play in the Premier League?

And who says that Gabby "isn't the player he was" or that "gabby alongside bent does not gel"? They've barely had the chance to play alongside each other.

I think we need to remember that Campbell scored these goals in a team that played kamikaze football throughout all of last season. If he was playing for blues last year I would imagine his amount of goals would have been closer to about 3 or 4.

I've seen gabby Play enough alongside bent and it doesn't gel, fonz has potential but we've seen what happened before bent came- 2nd from bottom !

Bent is our saving grace and if injured long term we are fucked.

meaning what clampy? proving gabby is not the player he was 2 years ago and our top  scorer when we were 6th was carew , who is not here , so what point are you making?

we are talking now not 2 years ago when milner, young and carew were in the team that finished 6th clampy. are you saying you think we will score plenty of goals without bent ?

as i said in the original post im not saying campbell is who id go for but i think we need someone.

Gabby and Bent worked well enough on Wednesday.

did you think they worked that well chris , remind me how many shots did we have on target on wednesday again?  im not knocking the game on wednesday but i do have a concern that if bent gets injured we lack a real goalscorer.

i still feel we will see a couple of more additions even if they are loan players.

Back up a second tonto. You said that if he hadn't played for Blues then people would be more open to it. I said that I didn't give a toss about his previous clubs. Just like McLeish, people's objections will be because he is shit, not because he happened to have played for another local club.

I'll ignore the Bath comment. I certainly don't need some jumped up little Sky Sports News obsessive to let me know my own mind, ta.

How many people have you seen complaining about the possibility of Dann coming in? None? Doesn't that make your little theory pretty redundant?

And a couple of dimwits with spray cans doesn't change it at all.
