So, having been out in the sticks for a week with no Internet connection what so ever. I'm sitting in a pub with the slightest reception and I've logged on to see what the news is.

In brief what I can gather is, no N'Zogbia yet. Whelen has asked for more money. Or have we just not met the original asking price from them with the first bid? But tha current lack of transfer activity has upset some people

New home kit launch is with black socks that looks good. "royal blue" keeper kit looks too much like the scum (is it really that bad?) and has upset some more people

The General hasn't posted on here for some time but has found time for VT which has upset even more people.

Is that about the gist of it all?

you missed out that theres only going to be one more signing of quality-likely to be nzogbia , maybe a couple of mill available if cuellar leaves.
i thought the general was told that his thread was going to be closed - not his decision was it?

What do you mean he said there is only money available for a keeper? You think we won't be signing N'Zogbia? I know the board have alienated a lot of fans this summer but not signing any replacements with the losses of Young, Downing and Cuellar would be disgusting.

that was if downing stayed , with downing going theres money for nzogbia but it seems mcleish is not being given all of the downing cash and that the young cash went in advance on bent from what kendrick reported.

Oh OK, thanks for informing me.

Still... i'm not too sure about only having 2 wingers, don't know if it's fair relying a lot on Marc having to step up and fill Young's boots. He's got the talent I believe, he's quick, can beat defenders with his skill and is very good at crossing the ball, I just don't know if he'd be mature enough to last a whole season. He'll get better with age so he has to start somewhere I suppose.

And if we won't be spending any more money looks like we will be after loans. Don't think Parker is an option now... shame as I really do believe he would of added a lot quality to our midfield and he'd be our new leader.

mcleish does seem to play the loan market well and a couple of high profile loans may still bolster the squad-lets hope he has a couple of aces up his sleeve.

i suppose after record losses that the money had to be recouped from somewhere, we dont want to go down the same path as leeds.

West brom being linked tonight with Ben foster on a season loan deal and norwich have completed the signing of Kyle naughton on a season loan.

I'd guess he is strongest as a right back but playing LB can only have helped his game.

You report that as if it's a fact. Shouldn't it be filed as just a rumour at the moment?
