Looks like Naughton could be out of the equation:-

I can get it:-

Skysports.com understands Norwich are lining up a move for Tottenham defender Kyle Naughton.

Spurs are thought to be willing to loan out Naughton this season as Harry Redknapp has plenty of cover at right-back.

Naughton enjoyed a successful season on loan at Leicester last term and Spurs believe a loan stint in the Premier League is the ideal next step in his development.

A number of clubs including Aston Villa, Queens Park Rangers and Leicester are all thought to be keen on Naughton, but Paul Lambert hopes to win the race for the full-back.

Lambert is keen to bolster his squad ahead of the new season and is hoping to strike a deal with Norwich for the England Under 21 international.

I'd imagine we can get him over Norwich, if we want to!

I would be amazed if Ivanhoe or beye went anywhere

Didn't beye turn down ipswich on loan in Jan? He's quite content going into training everyday in his ferrari

Beye is a greedy twat who really needs to move on istead of being a reserve team player and/or a bench warmer!

Don't see a reason to blast him for that, no evidence of him not trying or bitching about things. Good luck to him, blame the board for his contract.

So youre happy for him to continue getting paid excessive amounts of money by sitting on the bench and playing reserve team football when we could be investing that money in someone else who could be playing instead of him?  Great Theory!  Might as well bring back Salifou and Osbourne!

I'm sorry? I didn't offer a theory, a contract was signed between two parties and both seem to be honouring that agreement.
Is he good enough? No.

Hoillet is also in the final year of his contract so maybe thats another option for Villa at a reasonable price

If we really are looking into the loan market it is no bad thing. Maybe we could have a word with Chelsea and see if we could borrow Sturridge? I've heard they want to send him out again.

Naughton is a good shout as we need a left back.

Amazed we're not interested in Naughton, at least on a loan basis.

Both of these would be good and interesting business for us. Sturridge is top quality and would be "coming home" and Naughton's skill and potential are clear. The window does tend to make everything seem a bit desperate when it isn't, but a loan or two, in our circumstances, would be a pretty shrewd way forward.

Loans for Sturridge and Naughton with possible fees agreed would be good ideas.

Or better yet, loan them, with fees agreed as you say, and then buy Hoillet and Mulumbu.  Pretty much write 11/12 off as transitional and shed the last of the useless high earners (Beye and Heskey) and let our own kids gain the necessary experience, then go into 12/13 like this:-

Given

Lichaj
Clark
Dunne/Collins (maybe Dann)
Naughton

Makoun
Mulumbu

Albrighton
Delph/Bannan
Hoillet

Bent

Don't know, but I reckon Whelan is pissing me off so I'd be tempted to tell him we'll be back in Jan just to see the fucker squirm.  But the above works equally well if we substitute Hoillet for N'Zogbia.
